China Sculpture Museum

Located in the north wall of Datong, China Sculpture Museum is the first professional theme museum in China. The building area of the museum is 32000 square meters, the exhibition area is 26000 square meters, and the exhibition line is 2100 meters long. The first batch of works on display amounted to 519 pieces, including works of famous sculptors and works of the annual exhibition of graduates of Zeng Zhushao sculpture scholarship.

Development history

On January 12, 2013, the opening ceremony of the first Chinese Sculpture Museum was held in the north wall of Datong.

The name of China Sculpture Museum was inscribed by Qian Shaowu.

Collection

The first batch of works on display amounted to 519 pieces, including works of famous sculptors and works of the annual exhibition of graduates of Zeng Zhushao sculpture scholarship.

Important events

The exhibition is jointly sponsored by Datong Municipal People's government and National Academy of painting of China, and undertaken by Datong Municipal Bureau of cultural relics. A total of 158 works from 109 groups of 58 artists are exhibited in the exhibition.
