Marriage stone
The marriage stone of Hong Kong is located on Baoyun Road on Hong Kong Island, adjacent to the "Zhaohui terrace" private residential building. It is said that the "marriage stone" is a magic stone that can make people "ask for a spouse to get a spouse; ask for a son to get a son". Its shape is like a stone pen inserted obliquely on the stone pedestal. It is said that it has successfully forged a happy marriage for many couples. On the other hand, it is said that the appearance is similar to the penis, so it has the name of "seeking offspring and getting offspring".
Development history
After the Second World War, a foreign officer fell in love with a Chinese woman, but his family opposed him. After that, they both eloped to the mountain and stayed together (that is, the present site of the marriage stone on Baoyun road in the middle of the mountain), but finally starved to death and turned the mountain forest into a stone.
Later, they entrusted their dreams to the women in the North Point area, and promised to bring together all the lovers who worshiped them. Because it is very effective to pray for marriage, the marriage stone has been the hope of lovers since 1950s.
Baoyun road was originally a dangerous slope. In order to prevent landslides, the British Hong Kong government sent personnel to carry out treatment works for the slope. However, a rock like a human head appeared there. The top of the rock was longer than the grass, which looked like the hair on a human head. Later, people believed that if the wine bottle was hung on a tree next to the marriage stone with a rope, their wishes would come true.
In 1964, some people in Hong Kong privately raised funds to whitewash the rock, paint it into human shape, and under it, paint it into body shape, and set up many Hindu shrines such as "four sides God" to become "holy land". Since then, people have come to worship on the first and 15th day of the lunar calendar. People praying for marriage will come to worship on the 6th, 16th and 26th day of the lunar calendar.
The shape of the marriage stone is like a stone pen inserted obliquely on the stone seat, and this stone pen also creates a sweet and happy marriage for countless faithful men and women. Many people come to visit the stone of marriage. But on the sixth, sixteenth and 26th day of the lunar new year, it's crowded with people who want to get married. Apart from burning incense and paying homage sincerely, they also hang wine bottles on the trees next to the stone with ropes. It's said that their wishes will come true.
As the marriage stone is located on the hillside of Baoyun Road near Zhaohui terrace, it can overlook the famous landmarks of Wan Chai, Happy Valley Racecourse, Central Plaza, Hopewell Center, etc. it can also overlook the scenery at the foot of the mountain. Therefore, it attracts many foreign tourists.
