Xi Shui was the state of Yan from the Zhou Dynasty to the Warring States period.
Qin Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Ba County and Shu county.
The Western Han Dynasty belongs to Fuxian County of Qianwei county (now Hejiang); the Eastern Han Dynasty belongs to Fuxian County of Jiangyang county (later changed to Fuxin County and Fujie county). (Three Kingdoms) Shu Han, Li Jiangyang County Fujie county.
The Western Jin Dynasty (abolishing Fujie county) still belonged to Jiangyang County, while the Eastern Jin Dynasty (replacing Anle county) belonged to dongjiangyang county.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, Liang, who was attached to the Southern Dynasty, was an'anshu County in Luzhou County; later, in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, it was changed to Hejiang County in 564 (the fourth year of Emperor Wudi's Baoding), which belonged to Hejiang County in Luzhou county.
Sui Dynasty, under the jurisdiction of Luchuan County Hejiang county.
In the Tang Dynasty (618), Luchuan county was changed to Luzhou. Today, part of Xishui belongs to Hejiang county and part to Qinzhou. In 806 (the first year of Yuanhe), the Chishui River in Xishui belongs to Luzhou, Jiannan road.
In the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, it belonged to the later Tang Dynasty and belonged to Hejiang County, Luzhou, Jiannan road.
In the Song Dynasty, in 1109 (the third year of Daguan), Zizhou was built in today's Tucheng Town, leading Renhuai and Chengliu counties. In Renhuai County, Fuxing town of Chishui City was set up, and Xishui county belongs to it. In 1121 (the third year of Xuanhe), Zizhou was abolished and Wudu city was set up. Renhuai and Chengliu counties were removed and Renhuai fort was set up, which governed Renhuai and Chengliu counties, including today's Xishui.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Renhuai and GuZi were set up, which were transferred to the military and civilian pacification Department of Bozhou and subordinate to Huguang province. In 1291 (the 28th year of the Yuan Dynasty), he was transferred to the military and civilian pacification Department of Bozhou, Sichuan Province. Xishui county belongs to Renhuai, GuZi and other places. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Ming Yuzhen, the red scarf army, became the emperor of Chongqing (the country's name is Xia). During this period, Renhuai and GuZi were changed into Huaiyang County, which belongs to Xishui County.
In the Ming Dynasty, in 1371 (the fourth year of Hongwu), Yongning chief secretary was set up in makouya (today's ruweibaozitou). Four years later, it was promoted to Xuanfu Secretary of Yongning. In the same year, it moved to Pubei city (today's Xuyong county), but the area to the east of Chishui River was still under the jurisdiction of the local yuan chieftain. In the first month of 1372 (the fifth year of Hongwu), it was said that "the ancient city (today's Tucheng) was transformed into a place for thousands of households, and the Tang Dynasty BA (today's Tongmin town) chief secretary was set up". It belongs to Yongning Xuanfu department, subordinate to Sichuan Province, and has jurisdiction over most areas of Chishui City and Xishui County. In October 1396 (the 29th year of Hongwu), Sichuan was divided into three roads. In the Tang Dynasty, the governor of Ba belonged to East Sichuan Road (now Chongqing). In April 1567 (the first year of Longqing), the governor of BA in the Tang Dynasty moved to Yuxi (ruweibaozitou), which was still Xuanfu in Yongning. In 1572 (the fifth year of Longqing), Yang Yinglong attacked Bozhou and took Renhuai, GuZi and other places under the control of Bozhou. In 1601 (the 29th year of Wanli), after the chaos was calmed down, Renhuai county was set up in the Ming Dynasty, which is equivalent to Renhuai County, Chixi county and Xixi county. The jurisdiction of Bozhou is divided into Pingyue and Zunyi military and civilian government. The former is subordinate to Guizhou, while the latter is subordinate to Sichuan. Renhuai county is subordinate to Zunyi military and civilian government, which has jurisdiction of 10 Li, including Tucheng, Houtan, Xiaoxi, Erlang and Dingshan For today's Xishui County. Because Fuxingchang was destroyed by the war, Renhuai county government moved to liuyuanba (now Chishui City).
In the Qing Dynasty, in 1658 (the 15th year of Shunzhi), 10 Li under the jurisdiction of Renhuai County remained unchanged. In July 1728 (the sixth year of Yongzheng), Renhuai county was transferred to Guizhou along with Zunyi Prefecture. Except Renhuai, Hexi and Tucheng three li were under the jurisdiction of liangpu Tongtan, the remaining seven Li (including most of today's Xishui County) were still under the jurisdiction of Renhuai county. In 1730 (the eighth year of Yongzheng), the administrative land of Renhuai county was transferred from liuyuanba to tingziba (now the central town of Renhuai City). Renhuai Zhili office was set up in Renhuai county. In July of 1748 (the 13th year of Qianlong), the office of Zunyi was set up in liangpu, Renhuai county. In 1776 (the 41st year of Qianlong), Zunyi department was changed into Renhuai Zhili department, which was under the grain storage road of Guizhou Province. At this time, the towns and townships of today's Xishui, such as Tucheng, Longxing, Xingmin, Tongmin, Minhua and Donghuang, were subordinate to Renhuai Zhili hall; the towns and townships of Wenshui, Shuanglong, Guandian, zhaiba, Liangcun, Sangmu, Yong'an, Huilong, Dapo, Niba, Xianyuan, Taolin, Sanchahe, Chengzhai, Erlang, Erli and Xijiu were subordinate to Renhuai county. On the 20th of the first month of 1840 (the 20th year of the reign of Emperor Daoguang of Qing Dynasty), Zunyi government moved to Wenshui, which was the beginning of the establishment of Xishui. On the 14th of April 1905 (the 31st year of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty), Guizhou grain storage road was abolished and Renhuai Zhili hall was changed into Chishui hall. By 1911 (the third year of Xuantong), the jurisdiction of Xishui now belongs to Chishui hall and Renhuai county respectively, both under the command of Zunyi government.
In August 1913, Wenshui County was established, which was still subordinate to Renhuai County, with jurisdiction over Xiaoxi, Dingshan, Houtan and Chishui. In September 1915, Wenshui County was abolished, and Xishui County was established, where Wenshui was stationed. In the next year, it moved to Guandu (now Guandu town, Chishui City), belonging to the middle of Guizhou Province. At the beginning of 1916 (the fifth year of the Republic of China), the administrative region of Xishui County was formally delimited, and Xiaoxi, Dingshan, Houtan, Chishui 4 Li and the East emperor of Chishui hall, which were originally under the jurisdiction of Wenshui County, were included in Xishui County. In the same year, the establishment of District, Bao, a and Pai was carried out. There were 6 districts and 21 Bao in the county. In 1932, the seventh district (zhuzhaiba) was added. At this time, Xishui county has 7 districts, 9 towns and 68 townships.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in 1951, Xishui County governed eight districts, namely Changsha, Guandu, Donghuang, Liangcun, Wenshui, zhaiba, Guandian and Shuanglong. In November 1965, the six districts of Tucheng, Xingmin, Longxing in Chishui county and Sangmu, Huilong and Yong'an in Renhuai county were assigned to Xishui County, and the two districts of Changsha and Guandu in Xishui County were assigned to Chishui county. Xishui County governs 12 districts and 1 town. In 1992, the town was established and the township was withdrawn. In 1998, Malin industrial economic zone was established. Xishui county has jurisdiction over 24 township areas.
On December 28, 2015, with the approval of the provincial people's Government (QFH [2015] No. 319), the original division was adjusted and four sub district offices including Donghuang were added. So far, Xishui county has jurisdiction over 20 towns, 2 townships and 4 sub district offices
