Beiquan Temple

The ancient buildings of Beiquan temple are mainly arranged in front and back, connecting north and south, with the mountain gate and the two Buddha Hall as the central axis, and the East-West side hall and the left and right wing rooms are symmetrical, forming a square ancient building group. In front of the temple, there are many mountains, weeping willows, and a winding fish intestine trail extends to the misty and rainy sky. The mountain gate is a simple and elegant red lacquer gate building with cornices, carved beams and painted buildings.
The two open doors are inlaid with silver nails, and the stone lions confront each other. The four jade pillars standing on both sides of the mountain gate are exquisitely carved, skillful in Dao Gong, rolling dragons and dancing wind, flying clouds and floating fog. The book has a horizontal plaque with three big characters of "Beiquan Temple". It is gilded in gold at the bottom of the book. It is very dignified and solemn, hanging high under the eaves of the mountain gate. Into the gate, is a swaying bamboo, flowers set off, verdant flowers, quiet chic small garden.
The garden is quiet and elegant, with a pleasant fragrance. It is a place for tourists to have a rest. At the back of the garden is the two Buddha Hall dedicated to the four heavenly kings and the eighteen Arhats. If you look to the north of the moon gate on both sides of the Second Buddha Hall, over the eight trigrams pool trickling with spring water, you will see the main hall of Beiquan temple, the Great Buddha Hall. The Great Buddha Hall is beautiful in shape, exquisite in carving, gorgeous and elegant, dignified and generous. All kinds of patterns are carved on the vermilion doors and windows; eight Phoebe, vermilion jade pillars, Panlong opera building, lotus blossom, colorful, exquisite and simple. There are twelve rolling dragon steps in front of the hall, with jade railings inlaid on both sides. The double octagonal eaves of the main hall are decorated with golden lion heads. The horns are tightly tied with copper bells. The wind swings and the sound of Ding Dong is beautiful. On both sides of the main door, there are four bottles of copper censers, which are surrounded by green smoke all the year round. The fragrance of the four seasons is light and fragrant. It's really fragrant, like Lanfei. In the main hall of the hall, there are statues of Buddha and Guanyin in Nanhai, which are lifelike and lifelike. The whole hall is like a master lying on the hill, majestic and majestic.
The three side halls to the east of baguachi are well preserved today. They are the ancestral hall of Yanlu, which is respected by people. It is said that Beiquan temple is the place where this patriotic old minister was imprisoned, persevered in his integrity and died for his country. There is a statue of Yan Zhenqing in the ancestral hall. The three characters "heaven in the mountains" written by him before his death are inlaid on the banner of the ancestral hall door. An 8-foot-high stone tablet records Yan Zhenqing's life story. Because of the passage of time, this stone tablet no longer exists. The stone tablet that people see next to baguachi was erected by Pan Yuzheng, the magistrate of runing County, and Xu Dalai, the magistrate of Queshan County in 1547.
Cultural influence
Beiquan temple, a thousand year old temple, is said to be the most prosperous in the Tang and Song dynasties. The second day of the second lunar month is the annual ancient temple fair of Beiquan temple.
