Houkeng bridge generally refers to the Red Army Bridge (Qingyuan Red Army Bridge)
Red Army Bridge, formerly known as Houkeng bridge, is a wooden arch bridge. It is located in Houkeng village, Zhukou Town, Qingyuan County. It was built in the 10th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty. In 1934, under the leadership of Su Yu and Liu Ying, the advancing division of the red army destroyed more than 600 KMT Zhejiang provincial security corps and Qingyuan County security corps, killed Zhang Zhiyuan, head of Qingyuan County security corps, and won a great victory in the battle of Zhukou, clearing the way for the advancing Division to go north to resist Japan. From then on, the local people changed Houkeng bridge to Red Army Bridge.
