Bazhou Wangjia compound
Located in Shengfang Town, Bazhou City, Hebei Province, Wang's courtyard was first built in 1880 (the sixth year of qingguangxu). The former head of the household, Prince Jian, was invited from Tianjin for design and construction. It is said that it cost 30000 taels of silver.
The courtyard was originally divided into four small courtyard, the northeast corner of the courtyard is European architecture; the southeast corner of the courtyard is African architectural style; the northwest corner of the courtyard is Chinese traditional Qing style architecture; the southwest corner of the courtyard is the front courtyard of the entrance gate, European doors and windows, four sides of the corridor, three doors of different styles, the gate is dahuzuo gatehouse, the upper forehead of the gatehouse is carved with brick, a total of three sides, the middle side is Beijing Baita temple On the left side is Shanghai Broadway, and on the right side is Tianjin Waizi river. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit at Bazhou city level.
In 1958, teachers and students of the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of fine arts once observed and interviewed the building. The gate building is 4 meters wide and 5 meters high.
After the Tangshan earthquake, the southwest and Southeast second courtyard and the main gate, the second gate and the third gate were demolished. Now the North Second courtyard and the northwest and northeast second courtyard are basically intact.
The Wang family compound is under renovation and is expected to be completed in October 2008.
