Nanren lake is located in Nanren Mountain Ecological Reserve in the northeast corner of Kenting "national" park. There are three perennial lakes in Nanren Mountain Ecological Reserve: central water area, independent Nanren lake and Ilan Lake (or Nanren ancient lake). Among them, "Nanren Lake" is the most famous. It is a natural fresh water lake and the largest still water lake in Nanren water area ecosystem.

Ecological resources of Nanren Lake

The area of Nanren lake is vast, the water is quiet and welcome people, and the vegetation is green. The main aquatic plants are Cymbidium, water hairy flower, wild water chestnut, Anemone, etc The current area of 150 hectares is formed by the perennial rainwater collection and artificial embankment blockage. According to the research of botanists, the low hilly land around Nanren lake is a typical monsoon tropical rain forest, which is quite different from the forests in the north central part of the island, but very similar to the plants in the Philippines islands. It is quite characteristic and worthy of protection.

Nanrenshan Ecological Reserve

Nanren Mountain Ecological Reserve has a few low altitude natural tropical monsoon forests in Taiwan Island. It has a variety of topography, such as hills, valleys, marshes, streams, hillsides, grasslands, etc., and has a rare phenomenon of "vegetation compression". Although the elevation of Nanren mountain is not high, only 526 meters, it has plant species at about 1500 meters above sea level, which is pregnant with the forest There are more than 2000 kinds of plants and wild animals, including 80 kinds of birds, 24 kinds of snakes, 13 kinds of lizards, 12 kinds of fish, 19 kinds of frogs, 11 kinds of mammals, 5 kinds of turtles and crabs, and 65 kinds of butterflies in 7 families. In October, we can also see a large number of Griffins crossing the country, which is very spectacular.

Tourism navigation of Nanren Lake

After the establishment of Kenting "national" Park in 1982, Nanren mountain was painted as a protected area. Except for the purposes of academic research and environmental education, ordinary tourists are not allowed to enter, and the number of people who can apply to enter is limited to 400 per day. It takes about 3 hours to walk around Nanren lake, which is about 8.6 kilometers from the management station to the lakeside. In addition, Nanren lake is located in the ecological protection area, so it is necessary to enter Apply to the Kenting National Park Administration in advance.
