Mazu came to Taiwan in 1721, the 60th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign. Because of the incident of Zhu Yigui in Taiwan, the commander-in-chief LAN Tingzhen was ordered to put an end to the chaos. To this end, LAN Tingzhen went to Chaotian Pavilion in Meizhou, and invited the Virgin Mary to come to Taiwan with the ship. After stepping on the stage, LAN Tingzhen presented the Virgin Mary to the Da Tian Hou palace in Tainan. In the first year of Yongzheng reign (1723), when the chaos was peaceful, the Virgin Mary was again worshipped in dadunzhuangdian (today's Sanmin road in Taichung City), which was named "Lanxing Palace".
In 1786, the incident of Lin shuangwen happened. The battle devastated dadunzhuangdian and affected Lanxing palace. In 1789, the temple was restored for social stability. During the Jiaqing period, due to the erosion of the temple by wind and rain, local scholars such as Lin kaimei and Xu Qichang raised funds for reconstruction and renamed it "Wanchun Palace"; the "Lanxing Palace", which was originally a private temple, has since been transformed into a "Wanchun Palace" donated by people.
