The forest in the park, which is dominated by natural forest, grows luxuriantly with towering trees, and the forest coverage rate reaches 98.04%. The vegetation division belongs to the North sub zone of the middle subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest zone, Zhejiang Fujian hills, Castanopsis eyrei and Schima superba forest zone, and the zonal vegetation is the middle subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest zone. There are 439 species of woody plants belonging to 199 genera and 72 families in the park. Among them, Taxus chinensis var. mairei and sinocalyx (Bole tree) are the first-class national key protected wild plants, and Torreya grandis and Magnolia officinalis are the second-class key protected wild plants.
Animal resources
There are 265 species of terrestrial vertebrates in Niutoushan National Forest Park, Zhejiang Province, which mainly depend on forests. Tianshi Hall
Tianshi hall is located in Niutoushan National Forest Park in Zhejiang Province. According to records in Xuanping county annals and Chuzhou capital annals, ye fashan, a famous Taoist in the Tang Dynasty, moved from Yangmao mountain in Niutoushan to quantangkou in the east of Niutoushan when he was 7 years old. He collected herbs and alchemy from Niutoushan when he was a child, and finally built a road in Jielu of dengdeng peak in Niutoushan. He was awarded the titles of Jin Zi Guang Lu, Hong Lu Qing and Yue Guo Gong by serving the emperor of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties.

Development and construction
Infrastructure
In May 2007, Zhejiang Niutoushan National Forest Park completed the Shimen gorge plank road, Shangtian Houshan trail, Shanli Renjia and Xiatian service area projects, as well as sewage treatment and safety protection facilities.
In May 2018, the trail construction of Zhejiang Niutoushan National Forest Park was completed and put into use.

History and Humanities
It is said that Niutoushan mountain in Wuyi was built by Laozi riding on qingniu. In the Tang Dynasty, Taoist leader ye fashan used to collect herbs and make alchemy here. He served the Tang Emperors from Gaozong, Wuzetian to Xuanzong, and the emperor's admiration was unique in the history of Taoism. Ye Tianshi was 105 years old. After he Ling emerged from Niutoushan, the villagers built a temple to worship him. According to the imperial Sikuquanshu, ye Tianshi hall was built in the East Niutou mountain of the county to worship ye fashan. As a result, Niutou mountain has become a famous Taoist mountain full of magic, which adds mysterious power and aura.
