Nanjing Bridge Park

Nanjing Bridge Park, located under the South and North bridgeheads of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, consists of 18.5 hectares of Nanpu Park, 4.2 hectares of Beipu Park and 17.3 hectares of green space in the bridge area.

Nanjing Bridge Park

Nanjing Bridge Park is located under the South and North bridgehead of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge in Gulou District of Nanjing city. It consists of 18.5 hectares of Nanpu Park, 4.2 hectares of Beipu Park and 17.3 hectares of green space in the bridge area.

Development history

Nanpu Park was built by Nanjing Urban Construction Bureau in 1970 and completed on March 24, 1971. On September 24, 1972, it was under the leadership of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge Management Office of Shanghai Railway Administration, and Beibao Park was prepared for construction in 1972. Nanpu park's greening layout takes the connecting line of Dabao and Xiaobao as the central axis, and the flower beds and fountain on both sides are symmetrically arranged. More than 700 Cedrus and Lagerstroemia indica trees are planted around the park and on both sides of the main road, and 1500 Platanus, Sabina chinensis, juniper and Magnolia grandiflora trees are planted on both sides of road 3 to Jinchuan river. The park's greening coverage rate is more than 50%, with 13580 trees and shrubs, 6528 meters of hedgerow and 25000 pots of potted flowers. In 1985, the bridge tourism company was established to provide food, accommodation and play services for tourists. In 1986, it invested 100000 yuan to build a 4000 square meter roller skating rink. In 1989, another 14000 square meters of children's Park was built with traditional amusement facilities and modern electric amusement facilities. At the end of 1990, 1024 floodlights were installed on the bridge deck to make the park more beautiful.

Main attractions

Large flower bed

It is located on the East and west sides of the central axis of Nanpu Park, covering an area of 3064 square meters. Cedar is planted in the center of the flower bed, shrubs are planted around, and four flowers are arranged under the tree. It was built in 1973.

Large scale fountain

It is located on the East and west sides of the central axis of Nanpu Park, and the flower beds are symmetrically arranged in the south. Commensurate with the flower bed, two fountain covers an area of 2800 square meters, built in 1971.

Mini-Scape Garden

It is located in the southeast corner of Nanpu park. Covering an area of 4550 square meters, there are 51 kinds of bonsai and more than 680 pots, which were completed and opened on October 1, 1988.

Osmanthus garden

It is located in Nanpu park. There are 300 large sweet scented osmanthus tree balls and 900 meters of sweet scented osmanthus hedge.

Riverside scenery belt

Located along the river in Nanpu Park, it is 500 meters long and 20 meters wide, with cedar, crape myrtle, hibiscus and other flowers and trees.

Philodendron selloum

It is located in Nanpu park. It consists of 156 Ginkgo biloba.

Bridge platform and Exhibition Hall

It is located in Nanpu of the bridge. Take the elevator to the platform to have a panoramic view of Shicheng, Zhongshan and the Yangtze River. There are bridge models in the exhibition hall.
