Longmen Forest Park

Longmen Forest Park, located in Xiaolongmen village, Qingshui Town, Mentougou District, Beijing, is a municipal forest park. It is a national 2A scenic spot and a natural scenic spot integrating leisure vacation, scientific research and teaching. Its predecessor is XIAOLONGMEN FOREST FARM, which was opened to the outside world in 2000. It's 120 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing and can be reached by 109 National Highway.

Longmen Forest Park has complete accommodation and entertainment facilities. There are more than 300 beds and 57 guest rooms. The restaurant in the park can serve 200 people at the same time, including mountain vegetables, pheasant, guinea fowl, hand picked mutton, barbecue whole lamb, hare, squirrel, Daquan hot pot, etc. Bath, dance hall, karaoke, chess room, billiards room, conference room, campfire party and so on. There are Lingshan, Baihua Mountain, xiaowuru mountain, Yesanpo and Longmen stream nearby. Longmen Forest Park is a good place for tourism, leisure, organizing meetings, students' animal and plant practice and summer camp.

Longmen Forest Park is located in the west of Qijiazhuang office, Qingshui Town, Mentougou District, west of Beijing, the branch of Xiaowutai Mountain and the west of Lingshan mountain. With a total area of 15.95 square kilometers, it is located in a grand canyon surrounded by mountains on all sides. Southeast of it is a narrow gully with an average altitude of 1300 meters and the highest altitude of 2000 meters. The climate changes vertically. There are many plants on the mountain, which bloom more than one month later than the city. It is 114 kilometers away from Beijing, with a total area of 771 hectares.

Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the eastern and Western Ling mountains face each other, and an ancient enemy platform stands on the hillside. The park is divided into three parts: high mountains and precipitous beauty area, secluded valley exploration area and scientific research area. There are pheasant ridge, wild boar forest, azalea mountain, yecaiwa and other tourist attractions. Nanshan has 650 stone steps leading to the top of the mountain. The watchtower on the top of the mountain is for visitors to watch in summer and for fire prevention in autumn and winter.

Longmen Forest Park is located in Lingshan, the highest peak in Beijing, with an average altitude of 1330 meters and a total area of 771 hectares. Surrounded by mountains, there are great wall passage, city wall, ancient enemy tower ruins. Standing at the summit, the East and West Lingshan (Xiaowutai Mountain) confront each other.

The scenery here is different in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Enjoying flowers in spring, summer, watching leaves in autumn and singing snow in winter are excellent places for nature lovers. In spring, the plants just wake up and sprout. The wild Rhododendron is in bud and beautiful. Many natural landscapes in the park make people forget to return and feel relaxed and happy. From spring to autumn, flowers and wild fruits are like a beautiful traditional Chinese painting. In midsummer, the mountain resort is like a natural air conditioner. There are 109 National roads running through the East and West, so the transportation is convenient.

Because there are mountains and water, it has created a special climate and pure water quality. In addition, for many years, artificial afforestation, closing hillsides and tending management have formed one of the best forest and vegetation areas in Beijing.

There are 107 families and 844 species of higher vascular plants in the park. According to the records of 169 families in flora of Beijing in 1992, the park accounted for 64.8%. Sorbus bungeana and Sorbus bungeana are endemic to Beijing and Xishan. Abies Dongling and Larix principis rupprechtii are endemic to North China. There are more than 700 kinds of animals in the park, which is a paradise for wild animals. Among them, there are golden eagle and brown eared pheasant, Qingyang and leopard cat. In the park, the mountains, rocks and forests are magnificent and colorful. The mountain chicken ridge, wild boar forest, azalea mountain and yecaiwa are heavy and green, and the scenery is charming.

There are more than 700 species of wild animals, including more than 40 species of mammals, mainly wolves, foxes, leopards, wild boars, antelopes, etc.; more than 150 species of birds, including large raptors, kestrel, Dafeng, Golden Eagle (national first-class protected animals), gray faced crazy eagle, pheasant, stone pheasant, Brown Eared Pheasant (national first-class protected animals), etc.; more than 500 species of insects.

Xiaolongmen Forest Park is established on the basis of Dagou forest area of XIAOLONGMEN FOREST FARM, with a total area of 7.71 square kilometers. There are 844 plant species, mainly in temperate distribution, including Pinus tabulaeformis, Larix principis rupprechtii, Betula platyphylla, Corylus heterophylla, Platycladus orientalis, trench leaf and other species; Ailanthus altissima, Toona sinensis, Cotinus coggygria and other southern Paleotropical plants; POA sibirica, Poa mongolica, Cyperus Amur, Lespedeza davurica and other plants in Siberia and Mongolia. The bird's nest orchid of Kamchatka belongs to the northern plant, and Sorbus bungeana is endemic to Beijing. In addition, there are new species of endemic plants such as Arnebia littoralis and Echinacea.

There is 109 National Road running through the East and West in the park, with convenient transportation. There are also Lingshan, Baihua Mountain, Xiaowutai Mountain, Yesanpo and Longmen stream nearby. There are more than ten natural landscapes in the park, such as forest bathing beach, log cabin vacation, boar garden, observation tower, Baochun cliff, Baifo mountain, wangri Tuo and Yougu exploration area, which are good places for sightseeing.

From September to October every year, Xiaolongmen golden autumn tour is held in the scenic area. During the tour, tourists can enjoy the colorful autumn scenery, pick wild fruits, wild mushrooms, wild vegetables, and taste farm food.

The secret of the secluded valley

In the garden, there is a valley several kilometers long, known as the valley exploration area, which has not yet been opened, because there are many poisonous snakes there. The cliff in the deep valley, when the wind and rain, will make a strange howl, make people lose their souls. Therefore, few people go there to explore in rainy days, so it is named "the secret area of the valley".

There are all kinds of herbs on the mountain, and there are all kinds of wild vegetables. Guanzhong, jiecong, Shanjiu, Jue Cai, Mulan ya, shepherd's purse and so on are all natural wild vegetables.

Tourism information

The best time to travel: Beijing is warm temperate semi humid continental monsoon climate, hot and rainy in summer, cold and dry in winter, short in spring and autumn, with an average annual temperature of 10-12 ℃. The best travel time is from April to November.
