The total area is 10.5 hectares (including 7.5 hectares for Shenao Ancient Village). The four villages are arranged along the West Bank of Yingjia river. Shen'ao and di'pu are collectively referred to as Shenpu in history, which was developed by the ancestor of Shentu family after the Southern Song Dynasty. Xufan, the king of Jinhua, moved here in the Southern Song Dynasty and developed from Shentu's marriage. Up to now, he mainly lives in the surname Xu and Shentu. Huanxi village was built in the Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty. Zhou Lianxi, the tenth grandson of Zhou Dunyi, a great Confucian, led his people to move here and multiplied from generation to generation. The Qing Dynasty was a period of rapid development in the history of Shen'ao village. In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, a group of merchants became rich by trafficking straw paper. Most of the buildings in the village were built in this period.
Overview of ancient town
Ancient village style
Shenao ancient village is famous for its water system. The ancient village was built near yingjiaxi. When Shentu ancestors planned the village construction, they first planned the village water system. The village water system in Shenzhen and Macao is an independent water supply and drainage system, which is composed of streams, culverts, open ditches, wells and ponds. They are independent and interconnected. They can fully regulate the surface and groundwater resources, separate the drinking water, domestic water and sewage, and keep the water flowing all the time. It reflects a kind of environmental protection consciousness of water resources utilization, and solves the harm of stream flood and groundwater flooding to villages in practice.
cultural relics and historic sites
Shenao old street, more than 200 meters long, north-south, about 3 meters wide. Originally paved with pebbles, it was later replaced with cement pavement. Now it is paved with pebbles. The buildings on both sides are built in the middle and late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Most of them are shops, becoming the trading center in the vicinity. There are also huangjianong, Houju Nong, Sanfang Nong and other traditional streets in the village.
There are many cultural relics and historic sites in Shenzhen and Macao, including Shentu ancestral hall (including diejie Hall), a provincial cultural relics protection unit, and 26 cultural relics protection sites, such as huaisu hall, Gongsi hall, Jingsong hall, Shangzhi hall, etc. There are more than 100 traditional buildings with an area of nearly 40000 square meters, including more than 40 Qing Dynasty buildings. The interior is ornate, and the buildings are basically built in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. Most of them are folk houses, and some of them are ancestral halls, temples, theatres and bridges. The architectural form is similar. Most of them are quadrangle courtyards. The houses can be connected with each other by corner doors and back doors. The appearance is simple, but the wood carvings of beams, doors and windows are very particular. The important buildings include Youxu hall, Shennong hall, huaisu hall, Gongsi hall, Huaijing hall, etc. these buildings and the water system in the village form their own unique style and features.
Traditional customs
The traditional customs in Shenzhen and Macao include harvest festival, Water Dragon Festival, lion dance and dragon dance. Traditional handicrafts include making pit edge paper, embroidery, stickers and so on.
Investigation report of ancient village
Excerpt from the survey report on the ancient village of Shen'ao: it's new willow green again. In spring, the soft sunshine passes through the courtyard built in the early years of Daoguang, and lazily sprinkles on several pots of asparagus. The air is filled with the smell of steamed rice. The wood carvings under the eaves are obviously old, but the lion unicorn on the bracket is suddenly vivid, as if it was the same as two hundred years ago. Walking out of the house, the concave and convex cobble Road, the zigzag alley, the platform doors, the occasional birdsong or two, and the horse head wall with small green bricks and tiles make you think that time is back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The simplicity of the town is like a jar of old wine. If you wash away the lead, you will know the simplicity; when the prosperity is settled, you will see the truth. There is a poem saying:
A few wisps of low clouds around the house, light ink, light smoke, light Dai trace.
At the head of the Sunset Tower, the wild crane calls, and at the end of the steaming lane, the village Weng walks.
The green stone curved path is far away from the gate, and the blue water is deep.
The old things still exist, the appearance is simple, and the ancient style is mellow.
Shen'ao village, the main part of Shen'ao ancient town, is subordinate to Jiangnan Town, Tonglu County, Hangzhou city. It is located 16 kilometers to the east of Tonglu County. It is located at the water side of Yingjia River, the remaining vein of Longmen Mountain. Most of the villagers here have an old compound surname Shentu. It is said that Shentu's earliest ancestor was the descendants of Shennong, Emperor Yan. At the end of the Shang Dynasty in the 11th century B.C., Boyi defected to the state of Zhou because he didn't want to be the king of Guzhu. Later, Boyi's descendants, because of King Zhou's lack of Tao, embraced Zhou and destroyed Shang, and were granted the title of marquis Shen, establishing the state of Shen in Xie (now Nanyang, Henan Province). In the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the Zhou Dynasty declined. The descendants of marquis Shen moved to andingtuyuan. In memory of his hometown (Shen state) and his birthplace (tuyuan), his surname was Shentu. According to textual research, the Shentu clan moved to Tongli (now Shenao) in 1153 (the 23rd year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty) and became a famous family. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Ding'an township (Shenzhen and Macao) reached its heyday, and its trade was very frequent. At that time, the traces of economic prosperity can still be seen. The bracket, window pattern, characters and animals on the ancient buildings all tell the glory of the past. Some people who go out to study, become officials and do business have some capital and then go back to the village to buy land and build houses. It was also during this period that the ancient dwellings in Shenzhen and Macao basically took shape. In June 2006, Shen'ao village was listed as a provincial historical and cultural protection village because of its well preserved rare ancient architectural community, and then it was listed as a national historical and cultural protection village.

Tourism value
Tour value
The ancient town of Shen'ao has high historical and cultural value. It has two characteristics, one is water system, the other is ancient architecture. There is an independent water system in Shenao village, which is composed of culvert, open ditch, Karez, pond and stream. Among them, the structure of the culvert is particularly ingenious. It is 800 meters long, about 4 meters deep underground, 1.5 meters wide and 2 meters high, running through the whole village. The bottom of the canal is paved with pebbles, and the top of the canal is arched. People can enter and leave the canal for dredging, and the canal water is clear and sweet. For the convenience of getting water, a water port is opened every certain distance. Because the water port is relatively deep, the local people call it Ao, so the village name of Shen Ao comes from it. In parallel with this culvert, there is also a ditch running through the front of each house. The courtyard of each courtyard has a drainage ditch. According to the geomantic omen of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it is called "four water in one". The rainwater stored in the patio flows into the ditch in front of the gate and takes away the domestic sewage. There are 17 Karez and 12 reservoirs in the village. With such a complete water system, Shenzhen and Macao are protected as far as possible from floods and droughts. This was very far sighted in the village planning more than 1000 years ago. There are still more than 100 ancient buildings in Shenzhen and Macao, covering an area of about 40000 square meters. They still retain the architectural features and customs of that era. Most of them belong to one of the four major architectural styles in China. These ancient buildings can be divided into ancestral halls, temples, theatres, bridges and dwellings. Most of the ancient dwellings in Shenzhen and Macao are quadrangle courtyard, which is quiet and can ensure the privacy of the home. Each residential building is usually built along the central axis, and those restricted by the terrain are built along the outer wall, which is called "Baofang" by the local people. Most courtyards have one patio, and the largest one has seven. No matter how many patios there are, the dwellings in Shen'ao have double gates, that is, the gate hall. Generally, the gate hall is small and the hall is wide, which is auspicious. Entering the gate is to return to the hall, and further inside is to receive guests and worship their ancestors. There is a plaque on the top of the Taishi wall. In front of the Taishi wall is a long table. On both sides of the table are Taishi chairs. In front of the table is a round table with exquisite workmanship. This kind of decoration is very formal. It is worth mentioning that the interior of the house is decorated in a beautiful way according to the traditional Chinese architectural construction mode, combined with exquisite wood carving techniques. Line carving, shallow relief, deep relief, hollow carving, double-sided carving. There are no similar carvings among the window lattice of Liang Ge, such as auspicious flowers, gods, auspicious animals, water margin of the Three Kingdoms, loyalty, filial piety and righteousness, etc. The lotus hanging column, which plays a fixed role in architectural mechanics, is exquisitely carved, and the bracket, which plays a supporting role, is magnificent. The lion on the bracket is still in high spirits after hundreds of years of wind and rain. These carvings use all the wood carving techniques in China, leaving people with art treasures that can not be surpassed. It is almost impossible to copy them.
Good cluster condition. The cluster status of tourism resources directly affects the attraction of potential tourists. Tonglu is the country's county-level tourism crown, with national key scenic spots Fuchunjiang, qililong, Yanziling diaotai, Yaolin fairyland and Tongjun mountain. Shen'ao is located on the right bank of Fuchun River, southwest of the cluster. It can join the cluster to form a common landscape group, so as to increase the tourism value.
Excellent geographical combination. The tourist attractions of Tonglu can be roughly divided into geological and geomorphic landscapes, such as Yaolin fairyland; hydrogeological landscapes, such as the small Three Gorges of Fuchun River in qililong; folk customs, such as grandma red lantern; Humanities and arts, such as Yanziling diaotai, lack of architectural landscapes. However, with this unique tourism resource, Shenzhen and Macao Qiaqia can avoid the similarity of landscape features and form complementary advantages. Shenzhen and Macao are not only rich in cultural landscape, but also beautiful in natural landscape. Up to now, there are still 18 square kilometers of original mountain forests. Tieliang mountain, the highest mountain at 964.4 meters above sea level, is picturesque with four reservoirs inlaid with Jasper. Not only are the springs gurgling and the pines singing all the year round, but also there are stalagmites, stone platforms and waterfalls nearly 100 meters high. The local people call it Laolong, who sprays water from the sky.
Market distance
The economic value of tourism resources largely depends on the distance from tourism consumption market. The so-called distance from the consumer market
