The origin of the name
Canyon pumice forest originated in the west of Tiyun peak in Changbai Mountain. The name of Canyon pumice forest in Changbai Mountain has evolved many times with the change of historical dynasties. It was originally called "Jinggang Mountain". Because it was formed by volcanic eruption, later people also called it "volcanic Canyon" and "Canyon sand forest". And because most of it is composed of pumice, it is called Canyon pumice forest, which is still used today.

The scenery is famous for its beauty, strangeness, danger and seclusion. It is an amazing combination of strange peaks, waterfalls, strange rocks, underground rivers, Yongquan, green trees, strange flowers and different grasses. It is also a combination of primitive beauty, ecological beauty and natural beauty.
In the gorge, there are many strange rocks, and there are many wonderful sceneries

There is spring in the valley, water in the spring, small and elegant pool, clear water without deep water, and murmur without long stream.
Mountains are more strange because of water, and water is more beautiful because of mountains.
The magnificent mountains, the winding water, the fine grass, the gorgeous flowers, the graceful and tortuous roads, and the zigzag bridges make the natural scenery beautiful.
Cause of formation
Before the formation of the pumice forest scenic area, it was a 5000 meter long and 40 meter deep Grand Canyon with a total area of 3.4 hectares.
In AD 1199, an unprecedented volcanic eruption took place in Changbai Mountain, which formed debris flow to fill the canyon. Because the distance between the canyon and the crater is 19 km, with the continuous flow of debris flow from the volcano, the temperature of the canyon gradually dropped from 1000 ℃ to 600-700 ℃, and the solidity of debris flow decreased greatly. After 808 years of rain erosion, the canyon was destroyed Part of the pyroclastic material washed away, leaving hard debris, forming a unique pumice landscape of pumice forest in the canyon.
Main landscape
Ladder River
After the confluence of big and small Tizi River, it is called Tizi river. Tizi river flows westward into Jinjiang River, which is the secondary tributary of toudao Songhua River.
The width of the river bed is only 2 meters, but the depth is several meters to tens of meters.
The two walls are steep, the current is fast, and the river is clear and sweet. Because the riverbed of the river is composed of basalt, the cross section of the river is trapezoidal in width at the bottom and narrow at the top, and because the riverbed of the birthplace is steep, such as layers of stairs, it is called Tizi river.
Some reaches of the Tizi River are covered with vegetation and rocks, so you can only hear the sound of water flow, but you can't see the river. Therefore, Tizi river is also called DIHE river.
Auspicious tree
It is a Pinus koraiensis tree, has been hundreds of years old.
Pinus koraiensis, also known as Pinus koraiensis and Pinus haipinensis, is an evergreen tree of Pinus family.
Pinus koraiensis is an important precious timber species in China with excellent material, straight texture, strong resistance to pressure and decay. It is known as the pillar timber. Its age is the longest, up to more than 500 years.
The local people have a custom that for precious trees with a long age, they like to tie a red rope for their relatives and friends, especially for future generations, and take the meaning of longevity, which is the same age as the tree, because it is also known as "auspicious tree".
We can tie the ropes for our relatives, pray for their happiness and keep them safe forever.
Shanshentai
Changbai Mountain is the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty, and also the holy mountain of the Shamanism. Shamanism advocates that all things have spirits, and takes shaman as the messenger of human spirit communication. The gods worshipped by Shamanism include natural God, animal God, ancestor god and human God.
What we worship here is the God of nature, the Lord of Changbai Mountain, Chaohe Zhanwang.
It is said that Chaohe zhanwangma Hanka is the protection god of Shaman nationality. No matter how much suffering and misfortune there is in the world, Chaohe zhanwangma Hanka can relieve people's worries, add happiness and keep peace forever.
People in the northeast forest region pay special attention to the mountain god. They should worship the Mountain God first to pray for good weather, peace and prosperity.
Hunter house
Manchu people are good at shooting and hunting. In the early days, they made a living by hunting, and Changbai Mountain forest is a paradise for wild animals.
In those days, many hunters built small wooden houses here to live when hunting. The hunter house was built on the original site of the hunter house. Next to the hunter's house is the shooting range, where the hunters practice their arrows in the morning.
There is a custom among Manchu people that the more bows and arrows hanging in front of their front door, it means that this family is a famous hunter. When a child is born, he should also hang his bow and arrow in front of the door.
It means to be brave and good at fighting in the future. Every morning, the hunter is always used to shoot a few arrows on the scarecrow. If one arrow pierces the heart, it means that he is lucky today and will have a good harvest. Pumice forest formation zone:
First of all, I saw a sand peak called "dalidangga", which means "shadow wall" in Manchu. It is said that Nurhachi, the old king of Han, happened to come to the pumice forest to dig ginseng. He was too tired to walk. So he put his solo pole in front of the sand peak and rested on his back. Because the sand peak blocked the wind and rain, the old king of Han fell asleep and had a dream As an emperor, I wake up and feel that this sand peak is spiritual, so I take it as dalidangga, which means a wind and rain, implying that I will be blessed to walk through it from now on.
The second water peak is called shenlu peak. Manchu people worship deer because of its use value. When hunting, Manchu people hold the ceremony of jumping deer god. After hunting, when the deer skin is not dry, women are forbidden to touch or step on it with their hands. They think that this will make it difficult for future generations to hunt deer. At the same time, the touched deer skin can not be sold. This is a kind of expression of reverence for deer .
In Manchu surnames, the deer god was also sacrificed as a clan God. For example, the deer god worshipped by the Wu family in ningguta is called Zhuolu mother.
Wordless stele
It was made in memory of emperor Shunzhi. There is also a long-standing love story about people who don't love beauty. Let's review the beautiful legend of this amorous Emperor: it is said that there was a young master in Jiangnan who came to Xinjiang under the pseudonym. He was rich and powerful in his family. He was upright and devoted to justice and wealth. Dong Xiaowan, a famous prostitute in Jiangnan, came to serve him. During the uprightness of Li Zicheng, Prince Duoduo of Yu led his army to Jiangnan. He heard that Dong Xiaowan was beautiful and beautiful, so he set up a poisonous plan to take Dong Xiaowan away, and then sent Dong Xiaowan to the palace secretly. After entering the palace, Dong Xiaowan was deeply favored by Emperor Shunzhi, but she was always thinking about Mr. Mao. She never showed a smile in front of emperor Shunzhi. The Empress Dowager was afraid that the emperor Shunzhi would indulge in women's affairs and give up government, so she imprisoned Dong Xiaowan in Yuquan palace. After Dong Xiaowan was imprisoned, Emperor Shunzhi became captivated. One night, Emperor Shunzhi sneaked into Yuquan palace to meet Dong Xiaowan. They met for a long time. Finally, Dong Xiaowan said to Emperor Shunzhi, "if you have a destiny, goodbye to Wutai Mountain.". Emperor Shunzhi left Yuquan palace with a smile. From then on, she always mumbled "goodbye to Wutai Mountain". In order to make the emperor return to normal, the Empress Dowager decided to set fire to Yuquan palace. She broke the emperor's mind, so Dong xiaowanyu and the eunuchs in the palace disappeared. When Emperor Shunzhi learned about it, he did not feel sad, instead, he caressed his hands and laughed.
A few days later, the news of the emperor's disappearance came out of the palace. In order to prevent the situation from getting worse, the Empress Dowager strictly blocked the news and declared that the emperor was Bintian and Xuanye, the third son of the emperor, was to ascend the throne. Besides, after the emperor Shunzhi left the imperial edict, he slipped out of the palace at night and went all the way west. At dawn, I suddenly saw a monk with rosary beads and cassock in his hand. He claimed that he was left by his master's predecessor. When his master passed away, he once told him that the one who can make the finishing point on the painting is his reincarnation. Then he took out a pair of ink and wash paintings and a bald pen and handed them to Emperor Shunzhi. Emperor Shunzhi put the pen to the eyes of the dragon. If the dragon was miraculous, it would be as if it was alive. The toady monk called himself master and asked emperor Shunzhi if you had forgotten your appointment with the female Bodhisattva? After hearing this, Emperor Shunzhi immediately put on his cassock and went to Mount Wutai with the toad monk. From then on, visitors to Qingliang mountain can always see a pair of beautiful shadows, that is, Emperor Shunzhi and Dong Xiaowan. Shunzhi was the first emperor of Manchu after they entered Shanhaiguan. Later, they were tired of the life in the palace and became a monk. He once wrote a song: the jungle drink is the mountain, the clothes and bowls are everywhere for you to eat, gold and silver are not precious, only the cassock is the most difficult. I have not been free for 18 years. When will the war end? Now I will go back to the West and take care of him for thousands of years. To show that future generations should focus on fame and wealth and cultivate their mind. Therefore, it is the so-called "right and wrong, merits and demerits", which is set up for Shunzhi.
Mother Frodo
On the west mountain wall of the Manchu people, Buddha mother is worshipped. In Manchu, Buddha means willow in Chinese, and mother means grandma and old lady in Chinese. The purpose of worshiping Mother Buddha is to make the family prosperous. In addition, there are other wonders such as Fahai meditation stone and Tang Monk chanting peak. There are many natural springs in the pumice forest in the gorge, "friendship spring" represents friendship, "gege spring" is said to moisten the skin, "mother spring" represents selfless maternal love. Standing beside the spring of mother, stomping, there will be bubbles in the water, like the smile of mother; holding the entrance of the spring
