Boshan Lake scenic spot is located 40 kilometers south of Zhumadian City, adjacent to Beijing Zhuhai Expressway and Beijing Guangzhou railway in the East, and 107 national highway. The main scenic spot covers an area of 88 square kilometers, and the nature reserve covers an area of 150 square kilometers. Boshan Lake scenic spot is located 18 kilometers south of Queshan County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province. Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, Beijing Guangzhou railway and 107 national highway run through the north and south. The area of the scenic spot is 240 square kilometers. The forest coverage rate is more than 90%, and the lake surface is 22 square kilometers. In the scenic area, there are green peaks and blue water.

Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, led his army to stay in Boshan and slept at night. He became the emperor and wrote a letter to "Boshan" in person. In ancient times, Dayu passed by to cure floods and dredge the qintou river for the benefit of the people. Today, the Yuwang Temple is still there. Jiang Taigong helped King Cheng to destroy Shang Zhou and establish the Zhou Dynasty after he came down from Diaoyutai in Boshan. Boshan Lake

Located 20 kilometers south of Queshan County, the scenic spot is only 2 kilometers away from Beijing Guangzhou railway, Beijing Zhuhai Expressway and Beijing Shenzhen highway, with convenient transportation. Boshan lake has a storage capacity of 620 million cubic meters and a water body of 25 kilometers, covering an area of 22 square kilometers.

The dam with an elevation of 130 meters and a length of 545 meters stands between the two mountains, blocking the Taotao qintou River (zhentou River), forming an artificial lake.

Boshan reservoir was built in October 1952 and completed in 1954. It controls the drainage area of 580 square kilometers and has a total storage capacity of 620 million cubic meters. It is a large-scale water conservancy project mainly for flood control and irrigation, combined with power generation, aquaculture, tourism services and other comprehensive utilization.

In response to Chairman Mao's call that the Huaihe River must be repaired, the first batch of Huaihe River harnessing projects were started.

Around the lake, surrounded by mountains, peaks looming, canyons crisscrossing, pines and bamboos, lakes and mountains, misty morning, birds singing in the woods, pavilions and pavilions, fishing songs singing in the evening, changing scenery in one day and different tastes in four seasons.

The forest coverage around the lake is 75%, which was designated as a national forest park by the Ministry of forestry in 1992. It was selected as the location of "journey to the west" and "Long March" by CCTV and China TV drama production center.

Since the completion of the project, eight large floods including "75.8" flood have been intercepted. During the "75.8" flood, the highest flood level of the reservoir exceeded 0.65M of the dam crest. The dam of the reservoir was safe and survived the severe test. It made great contributions to the protection of the lives and properties of the downstream countries and the people, and produced great benefits of flood control and disaster reduction.

The reservoir irrigation area was built in 1958, with a designed irrigation area of 350000 mu. Up to now, it has provided 3 billion cubic meters of irrigation water, 5.24 million mu of irrigated crops and increased grain production by 500 million kg, which has made a significant contribution to the development of regional agriculture.

The total installed capacity of the reservoir power station is 5200 kW / h. since its completion 30 years ago, it has provided 140 million kwh of electric energy for industrial and agricultural production and people's life, with a comprehensive benefit of 595 million yuan.

Reservoir aquaculture is one of the pillar industries of reservoir, and its development speed is increasing day by day.

In addition to silver carp, bighead carp and common carp, there are also silver carp, mullet, soft shelled turtle and other valuable fish species. The fish resources are quite rich, and the total fishery output is more than 500000 kg every year. Because of the high vegetation rate, pollution-free water body and clear water quality in the basin of Boshan reservoir, Boshan fish is famous for its "big size, fat body, fine meat and delicious taste".

Urban transportation: take the shuttle bus to Queshan County, and then take the local bus to the scenic spot.
