In 1948, Chongqing was in the darkest hour before dawn under the rule of the Kuomintang. In order to cooperate with the workers' movement, Xu Yunfeng, Secretary of the underground Party's labor movement in Chongqing, ordered Fu Zhigao to set up the shaping bookstore as the standby contact point of the underground party. In order to show himself, Fu Zhigao, regardless of the confidential nature of the contact station, arbitrarily expanded the scale of the bookstore and improved the sales of books and periodicals.
One day, Jiang Jie, Secretary of the district Party committee, was going to Huaying Mountain base. Fu Zhigao went to the wharf to see her off. Jiang Jie told him to pay attention to concealment. He promised, but he didn't think so. When Jiang arrived at a county not far from the base, she found her husband Peng Songtao, political commissar of Huayingshan column, on the head of the city. After seeing the "old woman with two guns", the commander of the column, she held back her grief and insisted on working in the place where her husband had fought.
Fu Zhigao took a young man named Zheng Kechang to work in the store. Xu Yunfeng was surprised when he learned about the situation. After several analyses, he found that Zheng Kechang was acting suspiciously, so he asked Fu Zhigao to inform all the staff to move quickly. But Fu Zhigao didn't listen to the advice at all. Instead, he thought Xu Yunfeng was jealous of his work achievements. As a result, he was arrested and became a shameful traitor. Xu Yunfeng, Cheng Gang, Yu Xinjiang and Liu Siyang were arrested one after another for his information. Xu Pengfei, the spy chief, was overjoyed and tried to catch all the underground parties in Chongqing. However, he tried all kinds of tricks, but failed to get anything from Xu Yunfeng and others. In order to obtain confessions, the ferocious enemy crazily tortured the arrested Communists, gave them moldy food, and restricted the quantity of drinking water in hot summer, in an attempt to shake the revolutionaries' will with heat, mosquitoes, hunger and thirst. In order to smash the enemy's plot, the prisoner dug out a spring in the corner when the wind was blowing. In the struggle to protect the spring, long Guanghua died bravely. The prisoner went on a hunger strike to protest against the enemy's atrocities, and the enemy had to compromise.
The traitor Fu Zhigao leads the spy to the countryside. Unfortunately, Jiang Jie is arrested and imprisoned in the garbage hole. In prison, she suffered a lot. The cruel enemy nailed a bamboo stick into her ten fingers. In the face of poisoning, she announced: "torture is too small a test, bamboo signature is made of bamboo, and the will of Communist Party members is made of steel!" Autumn comes and winter comes, and it's the end of the year. The revolutionary situation in the whole country was very good, and the Kuomintang authorities began to release the air of peace talks after being hit hard. On Lunar New Year's Eve, all the needy friends in zhazidong held a special party. What is more gratifying is that the underground party sent people to get in touch with them. In order to show the "sincerity" of the peace talks, the enemy falsely released some political prisoners, including Liu Siyang, a communist from a capitalist family. On the night after he was sent back to Liu's residence, a man named Zhu sneaked into Liu's house and said that he was appointed by Li Jingyuan, Secretary of the district Party committee, to learn about Liu Siyang's performance in prison and ask him to report in detail about the underground party in prison. When Liu Siyang was suspicious of the man, Li Jingyuan sent intelligence to expose Zheng Kechang, a disguised spy. Liu Siyang had no time to transfer, so he was arrested and put into another prison, the white mansion. After Zheng Kechang failed to deceive Liu Siyang, he disguised himself as Gao Bangjin, a reporter who sympathized with the revolution, and went into the garbage hole. He tried to pry into the secret of the underground party in prison through bitter tricks. Yu Xinjiang and others saw through his disguise and got rid of the sinister spy by the hand of the enemy.
With the PLA approaching Chongqing, the underground party is preparing to organize a riot in prison. Hua Ziliang, a member of the Communist Party who has been pretending to be crazy for many years in baigongguan, has contacted the party organization in prison. At the same time, shut in the cellar, Xu Yunfeng dug out a secret passage with his fingers and iron shackles. When the people's liberation army invaded Sichuan and was about to liberate Chongqing, Xu Pengfei and others jumped over the wall and secretly killed Xu Yunfeng, Jiangjie and Chenggang in advance. On the night Xu Yunfeng and others were killed, a riot was held in zhazidong and baigongguan at the same time. Liu Siyang and other comrades died, but more comrades finally rushed out of the devil's den to welcome the brilliant dawn of the dawn with the roar of the PLA guns.
Creative background
Luo guangbin and Yang Yiyan, the authors of red rock, were arrested by Kuomintang reactionaries in 1948 and imprisoned in the concentration camp of "Sino US Institute for special technology cooperation" in Chongqing. Together with the heroes in the novel, they experienced those soul stirring struggles. After the founding of new China, in order to "tell the struggle here to future generations", they successively wrote reportage such as "holy flowers", "Jiangjie", "little luobotou" and revolutionary memoir "eternal life in the fire". Then, on the basis of these works, the novel Hongyan was created by processing, refining and artistic generalization. From preparation to completion, it took ten years to write a manuscript of more than three million words, three times of complete rework, and five or six times of major correction.
Personage introduction
Xu Yunfeng
Xu Yunfeng is one of the characters portrayed by the author. He is the leader of the underground party, which embodies the talent, quality and spirit of the proletarian revolutionaries. As soon as he appears in his works, he is a firm, brave, experienced and witty leader of the underground party. As soon as he arrived at the shaping bookstore, he found that there were two people of unknown origin in the bookstore. He immediately realized that "the danger is right in front of his eyes". He made a quick decision to cancel the contact point, transfer personnel, cover revolutionary comrades, and deal with everything in an orderly manner.
Xu Yunfeng is strong and brave, fearless, and stands up at the critical moment. He met with Li Jingyuan, an underground worker of the Communist Party of China, in Xinsheng tea garden. The traitor Fu Zhigao led the spy to attack suddenly. Regardless of his personal safety, Xu Yunfeng stood up and calmly covered the revolutionary comrades. He was arrested and put into prison. It shows the high integrity of the revolutionaries.
Xu Yunfeng is resourceful, firm, with extraordinary courage and ability to deal with the ever-changing situation. In prison, he skillfully guided Xu Pengfei to make a wrong judgment, assumed the leadership responsibility of the advancing newspaper, and protected the underground party organization. In the face of the banquet carefully designed by the enemy, he acted according to circumstances, exposed the enemy's plot, turned the banquet into a platform for exposing the enemy, and tactfully led out the spy chief Mao Renfeng. It shows the invincible power of the Communists.
Xu Yunfeng has the courage to overcome any enemy but not be overwhelmed by the enemy and the lofty spirit of courage to sacrifice. In prison, he had a tit for tat struggle with Xu Pengfei. With his bare hands and indomitable perseverance, he dug through the hole leading to the outside of the prison and left it to his comrades in arms. He died calmly with the belief of victory.
Jiang Jie
Jiangjie is a fuller artistic model in Hongyan. As an underground worker, she has rich experience and high vigilance. At Chaoyang Wharf in Chongqing, she saw that Fu Zhigao was wearing a suit to carry her luggage. She immediately saw through Fu Zhigao's good performance psychology and showed her high party spirit. On the way to Huaying Mountain, she saw her husband's head hanging on the top of the city. She was extremely sad. However, with her strong revolutionary will and extraordinary perseverance, she restrained her feelings, turned grief into strength, and bravely shouldered her husband's unfinished career. As a staunch communist fighter, she would rather die than bend. In the face of the cruel and inhuman torture of the enemy, she endured the torture and kept secret of the party. On the verge of death, she looks calm and behaves calmly. She combs her hair, arranges her clothes, kisses the "flower of prison" and always smiles with victory. "If we need to sacrifice for the communist ideal, each of us should, and can, keep her face from changing color and her heart from jumping." this remark fully demonstrates Jiang Jie's view of life and death as a communist fighter.
Xu Pengfei
As a villain, the author doesn't make up his face and conceptualize him, but pays attention to the complexity of his character. On the one hand, he is ferocious and vicious, "if he can't hear the howl of torture at any time, he will feel empty and terrible"; on the other hand, he has rich experience in spy work, and is good at using offensive tactics to seize each other's weaknesses, break each other's will, make use of Fu Zhigao's attachment to his family, and make use of Liu Siyang's origin, etc. But the more cruel and cunning he was, the more he could set off the lofty greatness of the revolutionaries.
Chenggang
He joined the Communist Party of China at the age of 16. He took part in the publishing, printing and distribution of the underground publication "Jin Jin Bao". He was arrested in the workshop and imprisoned in zhazidong and baigongguan detention houses. Under the threat and inducement of the enemy, he insisted on his integrity and publishing in prison《
