It is dedicated to 54 portraits of Taizhou prefects who have done good deeds for the people of Taizhou since the Jin Dynasty. In the west is the ancestral hall of the local sages, dedicated to the famous Taizhou local sages who have done good deeds for their hometown and brought benefits to their hometown. There are 85 people dedicated to them, from Qu Huang, a minister of the state of Wu, to Chen Hanhui of the Qing Dynasty.
Entering Lingxing gate is Dacheng gate. The main hall in dachengmen is dachengdian, which is the main building and the largest Hall of the Confucian temple. It covers an area of 756 square meters. The building is magnificent and the layout is reasonable, revealing the style of simplicity and atmosphere. In the middle of Dacheng hall is a statue of Confucius, which is located in a miniature shrine. On both sides of the statue of Confucius are statues of "Si Pei" and "Twelve philosophers", each of which lives in a niche. They are dressed in nine chapter costumes and nine dangling crowns, which are made by kings and Marquises. On the crossbeam of the hall, there are eight inscribed tablets written by emperors of different styles in different periods of the Qing Dynasty, reflecting the respect of emperors for knowledge and talents.
In front of the Dacheng hall, there are two sides of the building: the East and West veranda, also known as the twelve sages room, which are dedicated to the sages and Confucians of the past dynasties. There are two osmanthus trees and two apricot trees planted around the floor, and one octagonal well is dug on each side.
The terrace in front of Dacheng hall covers an area of 176 square meters. It has three stone steps and is surrounded by stone railings. All of them are carved with animals.
When offering sacrifices to Confucius, musicians and dancers who played Dacheng music and Wuyi dance, as well as ritual students who practiced ancient rituals, all performed activities on this terrace.
