Ancient Wudang Mountain

Wudang Mountain, National Geopark, National Forest Park. Located in the depth of Taihang Mountain in the northwest of Wu'an city, Handan City, Hebei Province, 70 kilometers away from Handan City, with a scenic area of more than 20 square kilometers. The ancient Wudang Mountain was built in Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty.

According to an ancient Tang Dynasty stele on the top of the mountain, this is the ancient Wudang Mountain. Through the research of experts, it is believed that it is the famous North Wudang Mountain that has been searched for by the domestic Taoist circles for a long time, and its history is earlier than other Wudang Mountains in China. The main peak of the temple on the ancient Wudang Mountain is 1437.7 meters above sea level. The Zhenwu ancient temple is built at the top of the mountain. The temple worships the great Taoist God Zhenwu and Taiji Master Zhang Sanfeng.

On January 4, 2017, Hebei Provincial Tourism Commission cancelled the qualification of 4A scenic spot of ancient Wudang Mountain in Wu'an, Handan city.

Main attractions

1. The main peak of Jinding, 1438m above sea level, is divided into three courtyards: upper, middle and lower. There are many ancient buildings such as Zhenwu hall, and 38 steles of merit and virtue rebuilt in the past dynasties. The Ming Dynasty stele records that "from Sui and Tang Dynasties to me, this ancient Wudang Mountain is also.". There is Sanqing temple in the South roof, an ancient overpass connecting the north and South roof, Xianglu mountain in front, Qinglong mountain and Fenghuang mountain on both sides.

Taihang is a unique scenic spot with luxuriant vegetation. The five peaks face each other and soar into the sky. The double turtles face each other on the back, the sacred monkey offers auspicious gifts, the Taiji divine palm, the sea exploring turtle and the unique Yangshan scenic spot in the north are magnificent. Wudang Tianchi is located in the Nanya palace, Tuotai cliff and granny's needle grinding stone cultivated by Emperor Zhenwu. It is a rare fairyland with mountains and rivers and clouds.

2. A skyscraper bridge is built between the two peaks on the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1400 meters. It makes people feel that "people pass over the bridge and their souls fly in the sky. They are not gods, they are better than immortals." it is a magnificent ancient bell tower. The rainbow bridge where emperor Zhenwu ascended to heaven, Sanfeng City, Sanfeng hall, Handan enlightenment, and the artistic conception of conquering hardness with softness are all in it.

3. Cool summer capital: the oak trees in the north mountain and the pine trees in the South Mountain are the most popular. The summer is cool without heat, and the highest temperature is 24 ° C. It is an ideal place for leisure and summer resort. It has the reputation of "cool summer capital" and "Taihang Mountain back garden". Traveling by cableway is relaxing and enjoyable.
