Bailuzhou Park

Bailuzhou Park, located in the South East corner of Nanjing City, is the largest park in the south of Nanjing city. During the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, it was the villa of Xu Da family, the founder of the country, so it was called Xu Taifu park or Xu Zhongshan Park. During the reign of Tianshun, Jiufeng temple was built in the garden, and fireworks flourished for a time. During the Zhengde period, Xu Tianci, a descendant of Xu Da, expanded the garden into the "largest and majestic" garden in Nanjing at that time, and named it Dongyuan. The garden has become an elegant gathering place for the owner of the garden to have poetry and wine parties with Wang Shizhen, Wu Chengen and many other famous scholars. When Wu Zong of Ming Dynasty was on a tour to the south, he went to the garden to enjoy the scenery and fish.

Development history

Bailuzhou Park is divided into Central Park and West Park, which is the largest open square park in Xiamen.

The Central Park, covering an area of 59000 square meters, was opened in 1995 with the theme of returning to nature. The statue of egret goddess, 13.6 meters high, is a landmark sculpture in Xiamen. There are pigeons on the square in front of the statue, which are close to visitors and naturally warm.

The West Park covers an area of 100000 square meters. It was built in 1997 when Hong Kong returned to China. There are regression stone, stone pillars of Chinese zodiac, music fountain square and music open-air square.

There are 400 square pigeons imported from Holland in Bailuzhou Park. They are fed twice a day. Visitors can have fun with pigeons in the park, or bring their own millet to feed them. Since then, Yuandang port has become an inner lake, with a water area of 1.7 square kilometers and a platform area of 400000 square meters. It is called Bailuzhou. It has a small commodity antique center, catering, entertainment facilities and Bailuzhou Park.

Yuandang night evolved from the ancient scene "Yuandang fishing fire". Once upon a time, the fishing boats in Yuandang harbor lined up on the shore every night. On a dark moon night, each boat had its own light, reflected in the water, swaying, flickering, shining, and the scenery was wonderful. After the West Bank was built, the fishing fire disappeared.
