architectural composition
The exhibition of Tianfei Palace Site Museum in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties consists of four parts: the first part is "vast ocean", which tells about the ancient Chinese ancestors' understanding and utilization of the ocean; the second part is "Maju", which tells about the emergence, evolution and spread of Mazu worship; the third part is "city of sea and river", which tells about the relationship between the formation, development and ocean of Tianjin ancient city The fourth part "eternal site" tells the history and archaeological excavation of the Tianfei palace in Dazhigu.
The central hall of the main building of the museum displays the architectural base of the Yuan Dynasty and the main hall of Tianfei palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is surrounded by a two-story exhibition hall with a 200 meter long exhibition line, displaying more than 200 cultural relics unearthed from the site and more than 300 pictures. The prosperity of shipping in the Yuan Dynasty promoted the birth of the first Mazu temple in northern China, Tianfei lingci palace in Dazhigu (1281-1284) It is more than 100 years earlier than the Weicheng of Tianjin, which was built in 1404. The rise and fall of decadence for hundreds of years has left a deep accumulation of ancient sites. The museum has an archaeological excavation site of the main hall of Tianfei palace in Qing Dynasty, a scaled down "hull model of Zhenghe No.1 treasure ship in Ming Dynasty" and a multimedia demonstration of the grand event of Mazu temple fair in Fujian.
In the square in front of the museum stands a statue of through column, which symbolizes the mast. From the bottom up, it is carved with different ocean patterns representing the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the top of the column is the statue of Mazu, holding her hands gently in front of her chest, looking forward to the safe return of the people who had been sailing.
