Cool Pavilion
Qingliang Pavilion, formerly known as cishou Pavilion, was founded in 1935 on the Bank of Jialing River at the foot of Flame Mountain in Beibei park. The pavilion has two floors, one floor and one floor. It is small and exquisite, and it is hidden in the green pines and cypresses. In the pavilion, the red pillars stand upright and the color paintings are gorgeous; the red glazed tiles on the top of the pavilion are magnificent. The tower is surrounded by windows and overlooks the nine peaks of Jinyun and the Jialing River running through the Three Gorges. The scenery of mountains and rivers is refreshing.
When it comes to the cool Pavilion, people will associate it with the story of Lu Zuofu changing it into a cool Pavilion. In 1927, when Lu Zuofu was the director of Xiafang in Beibei, he devoted himself to the development and construction of Beibei. He didn't even have a house. On the third day of the first month of 1934, on the 60th birthday of Lu Zuofu's mother, relatives, friends and people from all walks of life in Beibei raised 3000 silver yuan as birthday money to build a villa for Lu Zuofu. Lu Zuofu believed that it was improper to accept the gift money for private housing, so he discussed with his mother and decided to use the money for public welfare. Instead of private villas, a pavilion was built in Beibei park for people to see. After the pavilion was built, people praised Lu Zuofu's selflessness and enthusiasm for public welfare. However, when the pavilion was named, it was discussed that it should be named "cishou Pavilion" to let people know that it was built by Shoujin, the mother of director Lu. At this time, when Zhao Xi, a famous Sichuan scholar, was visiting Beibei, he asked him to write the three characters "Ci Shou Ge" and prepare to carve a plaque to hang on the pavilion. Lu Zuofu thought that the name was too narrow and changed the opinions of relatives and friends in a very subtle way. He did not openly say good or bad, nor did he engrave a plaque to hang, but asked Lu Ziying to preserve the three words "Ci Shou Ge". Huang zishang, who was in charge of the construction, asked Lu Zuofu again. Lu Jiang said, "I'll talk about it later.". In fact, the three characters "Ci Shou Ge" have been stored in Lu Ziying's box. A few years later, people only call this pavilion the CI Shou Pavilion, but the plaque is missing. When the Anti Japanese war broke out in 1937, the national government moved westward to Chongqing. On December 15, Lu Zuofu invited Lin Sen, chairman of the national government, to visit Beibei and asked him to inscribe "Qingliang Pavilion" to replace the name of "cishou Pavilion". In May 1938, the plaque of "Qingliang Pavilion" was suddenly hung on the cishou Pavilion. From then on, the name of Qingliang pavilion has been inherited to this day.
During the Anti Japanese War, Tao Xingzhi set up Xiaozhuang Research Institute here to study the military service reform, launched a vigorous volunteer movement in Beibei, planned to establish a talent training school, and cultivated a large number of talents for the motherland.
Red Mansions
Located at the foot of Flame Mountain in Beibei Park, the red building was built in 1932. Two floors and one bottom, red walls and green tiles, cornices and corners, set off in the green, beautiful and spectacular. Some people praise the poem: "more beautiful Red Mansions add a corner, the mountains suddenly feel too exquisite.". At the beginning of the Anti Japanese War, Jianshan middle school moved to Jigongshan, where the central bank set up an office. Every time Chiang Kai Shek came to Beibei, he stayed. On June 22, 1944, vice president Wallace of the United States came here to watch the glider show.
