Zhu Qiqian's former residence
It is located at No.3 zhaotangzi Hutong, Jianguomen, Dongcheng District. It is Zhu Qiqian's residence in Beijing since 1930s. Zhu Qiqian (1872-1964) was born in Kaiyang, Guizhou Province and Guangxu, Qing Dynasty. He once served as the supervisor of the translation school of Beijing Normal University in the late Qing Dynasty, and successively served as the chief of communications, chief of internal affairs and acting premier of state affairs in the Republic of China. Zhu Qiqian had a lot of research on ancient Chinese architecture. In 1930, he founded the first specialized research institution of ancient architecture in China, China construction society. He published many works with high academic level and trained a group of ancient architecture experts. His works include silk embroidery record, Zheyuan Wencun, taro Xianglu poem, etc. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as a librarian of the Central Research Institute of literature and history and a consultant of the Institute of ancient architecture renovation. In 1984, Zhu Qiqian house was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Dongcheng District.
