Macao Polytechnic

Macao Polytechnic is a public, multi-disciplinary, application-oriented institution of higher learning, which was established on September 16, 1991. At present, there are nearly 500 teaching staff, about 2800 students studying for bachelor's degree courses and more than 200 students studying for master's degree courses. The college also provides different types of training courses for more than 20000 people every year.

School history

On September 16, 1991, the Macao Institute of technology was established.

In February 2014, the quality assurance agency for Higher Education (QAA) of the UK announced to the world on its website that the Macao Polytechnic passed the QAA's institutional assessment with a "confident" rating. This is the first institution of higher learning in Macao to pass the international accreditation. The bureau is satisfied with the academic level of the college, the quality of students' learning, educational information and the continuous improvement of teaching quality, proving that the running level of the college meets international standards.

According to the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China (No. 4 file of the Department of Education), we have enrolled undergraduates in the mainland, and the relevant academic qualifications have been recognized by the mainland. The college enrolls students nationwide in the mainland, and it enrolls students independently, both in Arts and science, which does not affect the admission of mainland universities. Candidates only need to attend the national college entrance examination and reach the first batch of undergraduate admission marks in their provinces and cities, so that mainland students can choose to come to Australia for higher education.

In terms of scientific research, the Macao Institute of technology has set up an institute level committee to coordinate teaching and scientific research in the three major areas of English, gambling and information technology. Macao Polytechnic is a full member of the association of Asia Pacific universities and the association of Portuguese speaking universities, a specially invited member of the Coordinating Committee of Portuguese polytechnic universities, and a member of the Continuing Education Alliance initiated by Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
