Zhou Yu (175-210), also known as Gongjin, was a famous strategist and military commander in ancient China, and a famous general of the eastern Wu Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period. He is from ganchahe Town, Shucheng county. This is the pride of Shucheng people. Shucheng is rich in ruins, relics and folklore about Zhou Yu.

Life

Zhou Yu was born into a family. In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the 18 road princes discussed Dong Zhuo. Before sending troops, Sun Jian moved his family to Shucheng, and Zhou Yu gave up the South mansion for his family to live in. Sun Jian's descendants were friendly with Yu, and they lived in the same year as Yu for one month. Zhou Yu and sun CE were promoted to worship their mother, and whether they were in common or not.

When sun CE attacked Liyang, he wrote a letter to Zhou Yu, who welcomed sun CE.

In 198, Zhou Yu returned his nest to Wu. Sun CE personally welcomed Zhou Yu and gave him the official post of Jianwei Zhonglang, who was appointed to guard Caishiji, a fortress in the south of the Yangtze River. At that time, Zhou Yu was only 24 years old. Wu people called him "Zhou Lang". After conquering the city of Anhui, he and sun CE married Xiao Qiao and Da Qiao respectively. The relationship between the two is closer.

In the fourth year of Jian'an, sun CE wanted to attack Jingzhou and worship Zhou Yu as the central guard.

In the fifth year of Jian'an, sun CE was assassinated and died, and Sun Quan was appointed to take over. In order to stabilize the situation, Zhou Yu went to the funeral. At that time, Sun Quan was only a general, and all the guests were polite to him, but Zhou Yu was the first to give Sun Quan a big courtesy.

In the seventh year of Jian'an, Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao in Guandu and ordered Sun Quan to send him a proton. Sun Quan called all the ministers to discuss, but they had different opinions and were difficult to make a decision. Zhou Yu privately remonstrated Sun Quan to accept the pledge, and Sun Quan adopted it.

In the 11th year of Jian'an (202), Zhou Yu supervised Sun Yu and others in pingmatun and Baotun.

In 208, the 13th year of Jian'an, Sun Quan conquered Jiang Xia, and Zhou Yu was the front governor. It's Huang Zu, the leader of the owl.

In the same year, Cao Cao led the army, claiming to have 830000 troops, and tried to go south to destroy Wu. Sun Quan, the king and his officials, were afraid of the war and had different opinions. Only Zhou Yu judged the situation and advocated against Cao. Sun Quan was convinced by Zhou Yu. So he decided to unite with Liu Bei to fight against Cao. Cao Jun was mostly from the north. He was not good at water war, and he was not acclimatized to the weather. Zhou Yu adopted Huang Gai's tactics and defeated Cao Cao in Chibi with fire. Cao Cao's defeat in the battle of Chibi laid the foundation for the Three Kingdoms to stand together.

After the battle of Chibi, Zhou Yu led his army to attack Nanjun. He had a stalemate with Cao Ren, the general of Cao army, for more than a year. Even he was wounded by an arrow and finally got the important town of Jingzhou.

In the 15th year of Jian'an (210), he advised Sun Quan to lead the army to attack the Western Shu and planned to invade Cao Cao after annexing the Western Shu. Unexpectedly, on the way back to Jiangling to pack up, he died in Bachu (now Yueyang, Hunan Province). He was 36 years old and left a daughter and two sons.

Historical and social evaluation

In history, Zhou Yu was magnanimous, modest and elegant. The author of the romance of the Three Kingdoms has the idea of "orthodoxy", not only praising the Han Dynasty and the Wei Dynasty, but also praising the Han Dynasty and the Wu Dynasty. "After the completion of romance, Zhou Lang was jealous.". This is extremely unfair to Zhou Yu. Cheng Pu once praised Zhou Yu: "if you make friends with Gongjin, you will be drunk." At the same time, Zhou Yu is handsome and elegant. He is a musician proficient in Gong Shang. The best proof is that "if there is a mistake in Qu, Zhou Lang Gu" is recorded in history. Tang Li Duan borrowed this allusion to write "listen to the zither" five unique, including the sentence "if you want to get Zhou Lang's attention, you should always brush the string by mistake", which makes the expression of a zither player deliberately "brush the string by mistake" in order to win the favor of her lover very interesting.

As a general of the eastern Wu Dynasty, Zhou Yu is brave and resourceful, and can be called the first talent of the eastern Wu Dynasty. Sun Quan once praised him: "Gongjin's civil and military strategy is the best among thousands of people." "With the help of Wang Zuo." Above the high city is a flat platform. There are six or seven meters wide gates in the East, West, North and south. Originally, there were barracks, horse farm, zhouyujing, Mother Worship hall, Jingfan temple, ancient pagoda, etc. In the northwest of the city, there are three mounds, named "Lian San Dun", which is said to be the place where zhoulang trained his troops and herded horses. ——Zhouyucheng and liansandun, known as the "old city of Muma" in ancient times, were one of the "eight scenes of Longshu" in the past.

The ancient city of zhouyu is located on an east-west hillock with Hangbu River in the south. It is about three li around the city wall. There are four symmetrical city gate openings.
