There are many folk legends on the mountain. It is said that in 2002 BC, Chen Sheng, the leader of the peasant uprising, and 18 generals of Wu Guang's old army fled to the south, lived in seclusion, enlightened the immortals and became the "Eighteen Arhats". The legend of these 18 stones is their incarnation. Lion mountain was renamed "Eighteen Arhats" and is still in use today.

The eighteen arhat tower is 49.99 meters high and is built on a red sandstone peak with an elevation of 110 meters and an area of more than 6000 square meters. It can be seen for hundreds of miles.
