Introduction to the palace
The Guandi Temple of Zhuzhai was originally named Wu'an temple. It was built in 1555 a.d. by Hou Tingyong, a native of panlongli (now Zhuzhai town), and by Hou Yao, a father and son. It has a history of more than 450 years. More than 400 years of ups and downs witnessed the rise and fall of the Guandi temple in Zhuzhai. In the 35th year of Wanli period in the Ming Dynasty, Hou konghe and Hou Kongling were repaired; in the 46th year of Qianlong period in the Qing Dynasty, Hou Bangyan and Hou Daqing were rebuilt, with four temples, magnificent halls, stage building and performance, and fragrant incense; in the 25th year of Jiaqing period, Shu Yuanchun, the inspector general of Zhuzhai, was repaired three times; in the 26th year of the Republic of China, they were bombed by Japanese planes; in the following year, local people donated money for four repairs, and the "Chongguang tower" was built in front of Guandi hall. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Guandi temple was set up as a public activity place. In 1966, due to the influence of the "Cultural Revolution", all the statues in the temple were destroyed.
In the autumn of 1998, with the approval of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of religious affairs, the Guandi Temple of Zhuzhai was restored as a place for Taoist activities. With the support of Minhang District government, Zhuzhai town government and Shanghai Taoist Association, the temple was opened on February 11, 1999 (December 26, Wuyin year of the lunar calendar) to welcome the gods and receive guests. Since January 2004, Guandi hall has been built, Shanmen has been built in May 2007, and Xixiang house has been built in August 2009. But the front hall is in disrepair for a long time. It is a dangerous house and needs to be rebuilt. The temple mainly worships the statues of Guansheng emperor, Cihang Taoist, Zhenwu emperor, luzu, 60jiazi and Zhaoqi.
