Lin Baishui's former residence
Lin Baishui's former residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Xuanwu District in Beijing. Located in the former Xuanwu District Cotton Toutiao (see cotton hutong). In 2002, China Netcom demolished the office building when it was built. Later, Lin Baishui's former residence was rebuilt next to the Netcom building on the appeal of friends from the national press and Xuanwu District Cultural Museum in Beijing.

Pattern of former residence
Lin Shuibai's former residence is a courtyard with two entrances and faces south. The front yard is where the social daily is located. It has three main rooms, seven purlins in depth and a front porch. There are two hatchback rooms with five purlins. There are three rooms with inverted seats, five purlins in depth, and half rooms in the east to open the gateway. On the east side of the main room, there is a door leading to the backyard. The backyard is Lin Baishui's residence, with three main rooms, five purlins and a front porch. There are two hatchback rooms, the west room has only three purlins, and the east room has one more step. The landlord has a way to the back street. The main building and the East-West courtyard were well preserved and later used by Xicheng District Children's palace.
The story of Lin Baishui
Lin Baishui (1874-1926) was born in Fujian Province. His original name was Lin Wanli, and his name was Shaoquan. After middle-aged pen name Baishui. On the 29th day of Qing Dynasty (1903), Guangxu went to Waseda University to study law and journalism. Join the military National Education Association. After 1904, he insisted on writing in vernacular. He has successively served as editor in chief, editor in chief and reporter of China vernacular daily, Russian police news, alarm daily, etc., and also wrote critical articles for Minli daily, the times, etc. Then he joined the alliance. During the period of the Republic of China, he once served in the Beiyang government as a political participant and assistant, and was once elected as a member of Parliament. He once founded Gongyan Bao in Beijing. In the new culture movement, "we oppose classical Chinese and advocate vernacular Chinese.". In 1921, he founded the new society daily as its president and general manager. In 1922, he was ordered to stop publication because he exposed the crime of warlord Wu Peifu in the new society. After the resumption of publication, it will be changed to social daily. In August 1926, the society daily published a review "bureaucrat's luck" which exposed the warlord zhang Zongchang, and called Zhang Zongchang's "think tank" state premier Pan Fu "kidney capsule". Pan Fu was very angry after reading the newspaper, and ordered Lin Baishui to publish the newspaper to correct it and ask him to apologize. Lin Baishui refused. He was arrested and shot at the Tianqiao execution ground. "Journalists should tell people's stories, not lies; they should tell the truth, not lies!" is his famous saying. In 1985, the Ministry of Civil Affairs recognized him as a revolutionary martyr. Buried in Wan'an cemetery. There is "the remains of Mr. Lin Baishui" handed down.
