Xu Yuanyuan residence

Xu Yuanyuan residence is located in Nanxia street of cangbu. In 1931, Xu Yuanyuan, executive member of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang and commander in chief of the 26th group army, spent 100000 yuan to build it.

The mansion faces the Jingshi city from the west to the East. It is backed by Wu lake. The buildings are alternated with each other. The pavilions and pools are scattered. The four corridors are protected by ancient trees. The total building area is about 1170 square meters, which has both traditional Chinese national style and Western architectural characteristics. There are two buildings on the main floor, 36.8 meters in depth and 575 square meters in area. Engraved on the doorstep is the word "Zhendan Yanhui", written by Zhang Zhenwu, Secretary of President Li Yuanhong (flattened in the Cultural Revolution). The interior of the building is a wooden building, which connects the front and the back. The interior of the building is decorated with ribbed and flowered partition fans, which can capture the work of heaven. The sculptures of figures, animals and birds are hollowed out, which are lifelike. The western style door is semicircular on top. The cement door post is decorated with relief flowers. The floor is paved with terrazzo and five color patterns on a red background. The floor of the wing room is covered with planks. The right room has a basement. Outside the building, the double eaves are overlapped, and the corner teeth are flying. The eaves are carved with Ruyi Dougong, and the eaves are decorated with various stories. Behind the main building are archways, gatehouses and guard rooms; on the left side are gardens, rockeries and hexagonal pavilions; on the southeast are Zhengyuan middle school and Zhengyuan primary school. In the garden, there are flowers in spring, shade in summer, fruit in autumn and green in winter. It's beautiful. After liberation, Xu Yuanyuan residence was used by the second middle school of Xinzhou County; Zhengyuan middle school and Zhengyuan primary school were also changed into the campuses of Xinzhou normal school and its affiliated primary schools. In 1984 and 1988, Xu Yuanyuan mansion was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the people's Government of Xinzhou county and Wuhan city for tourists at home and abroad.
