Located near the Wanshou temple in the western suburb of Beijing, China theater was built in 1984. It is the first modern large-scale song and dance theater in China. With a total construction area of 11340 square meters, China theater is composed of auditorium, stage, dressing room, rehearsal hall, VIP room, recording room, drawing room and some ancillary facilities. The auditorium is 14.1 meters high and covers an area of 9000 square meters. It is divided into upper and lower floors, with a total of 1758 seats. Backstage is a 3-story area of 905 square meters of make-up building, the size of a total of more than 20 make-up rooms. The basement has a rest room for bands and actors.

The automation and mechanization level of theater stage is relatively high. The stage area is more than 600 square meters, which is divided into five lifting platforms. The middle two platforms can double-layer lift plus or minus 2.5 meters. There are five rotating platforms with a diameter of 1.2 meters on them, and six parallel push-pull platforms on both sides, which can quickly change scenes and actors. The orchestra pool in front of the stage can also rise and fall. When it rises, it can not only extend and enlarge the stage, but also facilitate the band to take a curtain call. This large stage can accommodate more than 1000 performers. Over the stage, the light bridge, cage, boom, etc. are as dense as cobweb. There are 574 stage lights, 268 of which are equipped with automatic color changing device, which changes the old method of changing the color of lights with artificial colored cellophane. According to the principle of architectural sound system, each audience can hear clearly and sweetly through the reflection of ceiling and wall in the theater without amplifying equipment. In addition, the theater has also installed a high-quality stereo system, with dozens of loudspeakers set around the theater. The sound effect of the performance makes the audience immersive. The stage lifting, rotation, lighting, electroacoustic and other equipment in the theater are all controlled by computers.

In the middle of the east wall of the West Hall of the Chinese theater, there is a blue and white stone line carving mural - "great national unity", which is very eye-catching. The lines of people dancing on the mural are clear and lifelike. All ethnic minorities with a population of more than 1 million have their own singing and dancing images in this painting.
