Chu Culture Museum

Chu culture center is located at 156 Donghu Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Located in the national key tourist scenic area - East Lake Moshan scenic area in Chu city. In the museum, the territory sand table of Chu state is creatively established, which directly shows the territory changes of Chu state in 800 years in the form of projection, and traditional shadow plays are regularly performed to tell the story of King Zhuang of Chu.

Basic introduction

The east side of the chime hall is symmetrical with the chime hall, which is a high table building with Chu culture characteristics. As one of the three main buildings of the new Hubei Provincial Museum, it is the only special exhibition hall with the purpose of fully displaying Chu culture in China. Covering an area of more than 300 square meters, the exhibition hall uses sound, light, electricity and other multimedia technology, combined with 32 physical exhibits, more than 100 text sketches and more than 200 art pictures, to systematically introduce Chu cultural knowledge, such as emperors and generals of Chu state, country and country, war and military, politics and economy, literature and art, science and technology, Chu customs, strange people and strange things, idioms and allusions.

Layout style

Overlooking from the air, Chu Culture Museum is like a big black dumbbell: exhibition halls at both ends and corridor in the middle. From a distance, the high steps, wide eaves and large slope roof of the Chu cultural center are magnificent, grand and dignified, showing the ancient style and charm.

Collection

With an exhibition area of more than 4000 square meters and two floors, the exhibition hall is divided into four exhibition halls. The exhibition hall is divided into eight units under the title of "opening up the territory and expanding the territory", "burning stone and carving gold", "cars rattling and horses roaring", "lacquered ornaments", "weaving culture and embroidery", "Li Nong attaching importance to commerce", "customs and fashion" and "wonderful theory and amazing talent". The strong lineup of the eight units condenses the experience of the state of Chu in the 800 years of architecture, metallurgy, casting, painting and painting At the same time, it also shows the folk customs of Chu people in living, eating, entertainment, sports and funeral. It also displays Chu cultural relics unearthed from tombs and sites of Chu state in Hubei and other places. It is estimated that about 600 cultural relics, models and sculptures will be displayed.

"Restoration of No.1 chemacheng, jiuliandun, Zaoyang" exhibition. The exhibits are mainly precious cultural relics, supplemented by appropriate models where necessary. The sword of Gou Jian, king of Yue, the spear of Fu Chai, king of Wu, the big copper axe, the splendid silk, the small screen of colored lacquer wood carving, the painted chime, all kinds of unearthed farm tools and seeds These rare cultural relics in the past are not only the crystallization of the diligence and intelligence of the ancestors, but also the reflection of their colorful life. Some of the treasures are the vivid embodiment of the highly developed science and technology in some fields at that time.

First Grade Cultural Relic

Goujian, king of Yue, is a bronze sword. The length of the sword is 56 cm, the width of the case is 5 cm, the body of the sword is decorated with dark black diamond patterns, and there are eight bird seal inscriptions of "King Yue Goujian self acting sword" on the front near the case. The front and back sides of the case are decorated with beautiful patterns inlaid with blue glass and turquoise. There are 11 concentric circles in the head of the sword. The sword is so bright and sharp that it is known as "the first sword in the world".

Fu Chai spear, the king of Wu, was unearthed in November 1983 from the Chu tomb "Ma Zhuan No. 5", which is only 2 kilometers away from the land where Gou Jian sword came out. On the front of the spear body, there are eight inscriptions of gold inlaid on Fu Chai, king of Wu, and they are also decorated with dark diamond patterns very similar to Gou Jian's sword. There are blood grooves on both sides of the spine, and there are fine animal head shaped perforated nose at the lower end of the blood groove. Its excellent casting and superb craftsmanship are comparable to that of Gou Jian sword, king of Yue.

Food utensils and cultural relics

Among the bronze wares on display, there is a very delicate food utensil called dun. Its shape is unique and interesting: it is composed of two symmetrical hemispheres, the bottom is the container, the top is the cover, and the top and bottom are buckled together, which looks like a watermelon, so it is commonly known as watermelon town.

Liulianguan

In Liulian Pavilion, the production and life of the Chu people are directly displayed from different aspects according to the car array made by the film turning at the site of chemacheng, jiuliandun, and the models of the restoration of the Chu people's living room, the partial restoration of Jiangning Nancheng, the partial restoration of Tonglushan mining site, the irrigation canal shaopi of the state of Chu, and the restoration of the Chu people's living room.
