Historical situation
It has a long history and was originally a branch of Quanzhen school
Lu Ho, the founder of Taoism Chunyang, is worshipped in luzu palace, which is one of the "Eight Immortals" in folklore. LV Dongbin was originally a scholar in the late Tang Dynasty. According to the legend of Taoist anecdotes, LV Dongbin failed in the Jinshi examination. On the way, he met Zhong Liquan and gave him a pillow. After sleeping on the pillow, LV Dongbin dreamed that he had been an official of the imperial court for 31 years. He was a dignitary and powerful man. Later, when he was relegated and released, the road was full of wind and snow, and people were tired. Lu Dongbin was sighing about the vicissitudes of life. Suddenly, his dream woke up. At this time, the rice cooked before going to bed was not ripe. Therefore, Lu Dongbin saw through the world and followed Zhong Liquan to become a monk.
This plot originated from Zhen Zhong Ji by Shen Jiji in Tang Dynasty, which is the origin of the idiom "Huang Liang Yi Meng", and gradually evolved into a Taoist legend. Ma Zhiyuan, a master of Sanqu in the Yuan Dynasty, wrote the story of Lu Dongbin's dream and enlightenment. With the evolution of dynasties, LV Dongbin became one of the most popular figures in folklore.
Luzu palace was first built in the Ming Dynasty as the "fire Temple". During the Xianfeng Period of the Qing Dynasty, ye Helin, a Taoist monk, invested in the renovation of the fire temple into the present luzu palace. It is said that in those days, incense flourished here, especially on the 14th of the fourth lunar month, the legendary birthday of LV Dongbin. Now it is one of the only two Taoist temples of Beijing Taoist Association.
Luzu palace is a Qing Dynasty building. Due to its well preserved structure, it is a cultural relic protection unit in Xicheng District. Lu Dongbin, Zhao Gongming and Sun Simiao are still worshipped in luzu palace.
Luzu palace belongs to Quanzhen dragon sect in Taoism, which is the famous Quanzhen sect given by great Xia Jinyong. It's hard to say whether Quanzhen sect has martial arts, but the real person of Chongyang, Wang Chongyang, and the real person of Changchun, Qiu Chuji, are all real people. Wang Chongyang is the founder of Quanzhen school, and the Longmen sect was created by Qiu Chuji. Today's baiyun temple in Beijing is the place where Qiu Chuji founded his sect. Luzu palace is not as large as baiyun temple, but it is also an important place of Quanzhen Longmen school. The first Taoist postgraduate class is being held here. Every weekend, university professors will give lectures on the stage, and the monks from various Taoist temples all over the country will sit below.
Reality
Today, Taoists still have strict religious rules
There are also foreigners with high noses in luzu palace. When they come here, they ask in English who can speak English. To see the presence of a few monks, no one can answer, foreigners holding a camera in the hall on the shutter. Normally, cultural relics units refuse visitors to take photos indoors, but a few Taoists just smile and don't stop them. The answer is: it's not easy to come all the way.
This is about a monk's kindness to others. In the long run, they seem to belong to another world. Several monks from luzu palace have come here for a short time. Their general rule is that they often live in a Taoist temple for a long time, and most of them study in Taoist temples all over the country. When they arrive at a Taoist temple, they stay for a few months or more than ten days. Say up smile: ten thousand volumes of books have not read, ten thousand miles is gone. Ask them why they go and stay, and answer: let's see the chance. Some monks have no family to care about.
Introduction to the canon
The Quanzhen sect has strict religious rules. No matter which Taoist temple they practice in, there are strict time limits on daily life and food, and the two times of homework in the morning and evening are even more static. In addition to participating in activities within the church, or visiting Taoist friends at baiyun temple, Taoist people seldom go out at ordinary times. When they have free time, they use piano, chess, calligraphy and painting to calm down. In luzu palace, next to the Second Ring Road, it's not easy to calm down amid the noise of cars and horses. However, Taoists just say faintly: it's a little noisy in the morning and evening rush hour, and they don't feel it at other times. In addition to the hair bun and clothing that still maintain the style of Han Dynasty, this calm spirit is quite different from ordinary people. However, the practice of Taoism is not totally out of touch with the world. TV and newspapers have become the way for monks to understand the world. Taoists also have holidays to visit their parents every year, instead of cutting off the common customs as in the past.
