Oluanbi Park

Located at the southernmost tip of Taiwan, e-luanbi park is famous for its lighthouse and is one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. The lighthouse in the park is the guiding light in the southern waters and the only armed lighthouse in the world. There is also a giant statue beside the tower for tourists to look forward to, and in front of the giant statue is a monument to commemorate the "Eight Sights of Taiwan" for tourists to take photos.

The coral reef and limestone terrain are all over the park. The grotesque rocks and the crisscross footpaths are like a labyrinth. The scenic spots such as hero stone, Canghai Pavilion, Youyi village and Yingbin pavilion are fascinating everywhere. There are a variety of tropical plants, and because of the advantages of the terrain can overlook the blue sea and blue sky. In addition, a number of red tailed shrike pass through every September, which is a good place for bird watching.

Oluanbi Park

Cause of formation

Located at the southernmost tip of Taiwan, e-luanbi park used to be a submarine reef. Therefore, the coral reefs and limestone terrain in the park are all over the place. Due to the erosion of waves, strong winds and rain, it has created many wonders such as giant reefs, strange peaks and caves.

Scenic spots in the park

The garden is crisscrossed with footpaths, just like a labyrinth. Scenic spots such as hero stone, Canghai Pavilion, Youyi village and Yingbin pavilion are fascinating everywhere.

Erluanbi lighthouse is a park sign, with a height of 18 meters and a perimeter of 110 meters. It takes the fort as the base of the lighthouse, with gun holes on the wall and ditches around. It is the only armed lighthouse in the world. The white iron tower is divided into five layers. The first layer is used to store kerosene, the second layer is used to store green cannons, the third layer is used as a rest place for foreigners, the fourth layer is used to store Ronglin cannons, and the fifth layer is used as the light source. It was bombed at the end of the Second World War. Later, it was rebuilt and replaced with a new type of large fourth class rotating lens electric lamp. It is the lighthouse with the strongest light power in Taiwan and enjoys the reputation of "light of East Asia". In addition, there is a giant statue beside the tower for visitors to look forward to. In front of the Colossus is a monument commemorating the "Eight Sights of Taiwan" for tourists to take photos.

Biological resources

There are abundant flora and fauna in the luanling park. Every year in September, there are a large number of red tailed shrike from Siberia and Chinese mainland. The spectacular scenery is worth watching.

Practical information

Transportation: you can take the through train from Zhongnan passenger station and Kaohsiung passenger station to oluanbi Park in front of Kaohsiung railway station.

Self driving: start from Taipei, go south to the end of the expressway, go to the direction of Kenting, then take provincial highway 17 (i.e. Binhai Highway), go through shuidiliao, then turn to Provincial Highway 1, go through Fenggang, then take provincial highway 26, go through Hengchun to Kenting, and then go South to get there.

Starting from Kaohsiung, take provincial road 17 (i.e. Binhai Highway), pass shuidiliao, then turn to provincial road 1, pass Fenggang, then take provincial road 26, pass Hengchun to Kenting, and then go southward.

Opening hours: 6:30-18:30 every day (from April 1 to October 31 every year); 7:00-17:30 every day (from November 1 to March 31 next year).
