"Tabran" is one of the representative pagodas in Xishuangbanna. It was first built in 784, rebuilt in 1202, the second year of Jiatai in Southern Song Dynasty, and the existing pagoda system was restored in 1992. On November 21, 2002, it was announced by the municipal government as the second batch of municipal cultural relics protection units in Jinghong City.
"Tabran" is composed of the main tower and four sub towers. It is a solid tower with brick soil structure and white ash. It is divided into four parts: tower base, tower base, tower body and tower brake. The shape of the main tower is square base, round gourd body and conical tip, with a height of about 15 meters. Each floor of the base is engraved with decorative patterns. At the four corners of the base, there are lotus pillars supported by tortoises, snakes, peacocks and cancer, and gourd shaped pagodas about 3 meters high. There are niches at the bottom of the pagoda, and the pagoda body shrinks layer by layer from bottom to top. The base of the brake is a bell type cap, the body of the brake has a lotus and a phase wheel, the brake rod is decorated with a round silver plate engraved with flower patterns, and the spire is decorated with gems. The whole tower is exquisite and has important historical significance. 、
Now there are some auxiliary buildings around the black tower, such as mountain gate, water well, Buddha Hall, Wofo temple and so on. The black tower is also painted with gold. The square base of the tower is a two-story platform. Each side of the first floor has a pair of simple dragon sculptures lying opposite each other. Each corner of the second floor has a square auxiliary tower, and the facade is carved with exquisite relief. The main tower with a height of more than 10 meters is located in the center of the tower foundation. The octagonal tower base and the tower body are made of multi-layer xumizuo. The rigid straight line contour shrinks step by step from the bottom to the top, showing the rhythmic rhythm and the masculine beauty of straight and upward. It is one third of the height of the tower. The Tasha, which is composed of rosette, phase wheel, canopy, vase and Fengduo, is the most artistic part of the black tower. The gilded Tasha is shining in the sun, the needle pierces the sky, and Fengduo rings with the wind, conveying the spirit and soul of heaven and the world.
