On the back, the craftsman wrote "Jidong key" in a similar font, which was inscribed as "Huajun" in the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. There are crenels around the platform and arched openings in the middle of the platform. The whole building is simple and elegant, reflecting the ancient characteristics of Ji county. It is an ancient building reflecting the architectural style of Ming Dynasty. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit at the county level.
The three words "Gu Yu Yang" on the plaque of Drum Tower fully sum up the ancient history of Jizhou district. Jizhou District of Tianjin once built a state without final son in the spring and Autumn period. In the Qin Dynasty, Wuzhong county was established. In the first year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty, Xiang Yu granted Han Guang the title of king of Liaodong and established his capital here. Daye was renamed Yuyang in the early Sui Dynasty.
Jixian city was originally an earth city. In the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1371), the earth city was wrapped with bricks and stones, surrounded by nine Li and thirteen steps. In the north of the city there were hills blocking it, but there were no gates. There are gates on the East, South and west sides of the city, with buildings on the gates and turrets on the four corners of the city. The drum tower is built in the center of the city. In 1642, the Qing army invaded Jizhou. The city was demolished and the drum tower was burned. During the reign of Shunzhi, Kangxi and Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty, they were rebuilt several times as they were in the Ming Dynasty, but they were destroyed several times because of earthquakes, fires or disrepair. By the end of the Anti Japanese War, all the upper turrets of Jixian city had collapsed and the city walls had been demolished. The drum tower in the city is also in tatters.
geographical environment
The plaque of "Jidong Suoyue" sums up the importance of Jixian's geographical location. Since ancient times, Jixian has been an important town in the north, a military center, and a place for military strategists. Zangda, the king of Yan in the Western Han Dynasty, killed Han Guang, the king of Liaodong; Wu Qi, the general of the Eastern Han Dynasty, killed Mu Miao Zeng in Youzhou; Meng Guangping, the king of Yan, killed Li Lang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. In the later Zhao Dynasty, Qidan, Liao Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Anti Japanese period, it was a battlefield. In the north of Jixian County, nomadic people lived together in ancient times, and they constantly set up troops to invade. Therefore, the rulers of Tang Dynasty, Liao Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and other dynasties all set up heavy troops to guard here, and had already built a city for defense. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Wuwei was one of the "four cities" in youbeiping county. After the Ming Dynasty moved its capital to Beijing, Jixian was just the East neighbor of the capital and the key place to protect the capital. Therefore, it was necessary to strengthen the city defense here. Lu Shusheng of the Ming Dynasty wrote a brief account of the rebuilding of the city tower in Jizhou: "Jizhou is an important town in Beijing Pillow mountain belt river, heavy pass back Town, delivery for aid, with wing cover tweezers auxiliary Therefore, Chongtang giant screen, special garrison, Su Jinbing, fengchushi, to zhuancheng garrison. "All these show the importance of Jixian's geographical location.
