Kainan University

Kainan University (KNU), referred to as Kainan, is a private university located in Luzhu Township, Taoyuan County, Taiwan. It is close to Taoyuan International Airport and formerly known as Kainan School of management. It was established in 2000 and restructured since 2006.

The origin of school

It was founded by alumni of Kainan commerce and industry with the alumni fund accumulated for many years. During the initial stage, the university acquired land through cooperation with Taoyuan County Government, water conservancy association and other units, and carried out campus construction. After nearly ten years of preparation, after overcoming many difficulties, the University officially enrolled students in 2000. Due to excellent professional teachers and pursuit of excellence in teaching, the school's achievements have won the excellent evaluation of the University and the affirmation of society in many aspects. Therefore, the university is renamed Kainan University The combination of modern buildings and the adjacent rural scenery highlights the ambition of "caring for the local, based on Taiwan and looking to the world", and hopes to continue to lead our teachers and students to jointly open up a new situation of university education with the educational goal of "development internationalization, campus humanization and teaching excellence".

history

Pioneering period

In January 1990, the Preparatory Committee was established, and the name of the University was named Kainan Institute of technology.

In March 1992, it was renamed Kainan Management College.

In October 1996, the construction of the campus was started.

In March 2000, the Department of finance, tourism, catering and hotel, international enterprise, business management, information management, accounting and shipping logistics management were established; in August, Kainan Management College was opened; in December, the "celebrity lecture" was held for the first time.

Management school period

In March 2001, the Department of information and e-commerce was set up; in June 2001, the Department of law, Department of air transport operation and management, Department of Applied Foreign Languages and Department of public affairs management were set up; and the bachelor's degree program was set up.

In August 2002, the Department of information communication was established and the master's Institute was established.

In October 2003, the Ministry of promotion and education was established

In December 2004, nanxiaoxun, the school's first publication, held the new year's ball for the first time.

In April 2006, it was transformed into a university and named Kainan University; in December 2006, it held the women's Basketball Invitational Competition.

University period

In April 2007, the inter school volleyball Invitational Competition for men and women was held; in November, the alumni association was established.

In March 2008, master's on-the-job courses, bachelor's degree courses and the Ministry of promotion and education merged; in September 2008, the Department of health and nutrition, the Department of silver hair health environment and the Department of silver hair health promotion were established.

In August 2009, the Department of information engineering was established, and the bachelor degree program of creative industry and digital integration was established.

In August 2010, the Department of digital applied Chinese literature was established.

In February 2011, the digital roll call system was established.

Campus environment

Zhicheng building

There are seven floors on the ground and one floor underground, also known as teaching building, with multimedia classroom and lecture hall. It is now used for teaching.

Excellence building

The first floor is located below the ground level, and the second floor is the main access, with multimedia classroom and lecture hall. It is now used for teaching.

library

There are five floors above the ground and one underground. There is a library and a food street.

Students' meeting and sports activities.

Yan Wenlong International Conference Center

It is also called Wenlong International Conference Center. It is used for speaking activities.

Kainan student hall

It is divided into one hall and two halls, which are used for students' accommodation. There are food street and entertainment room on the basement.

Administration building

It is divided into the South Building and the north building. The building is arch shaped, with seven floors above the ground and one floor underground. It is now used by the school administration and has a food street.

Student autonomy Association of Kainan University

The student autonomy Association of Kainan University is a student autonomy organization established in accordance with the university law. Under the leadership of Xu Chaozhi, the 10th president, and Gao Weisheng, the executive secretary, as the drafter, the student charter Committee of Kainan University was convened to review and approve the student autonomy Charter of Kainan University. According to its provisions, the student autonomy Association of Kainan University has a student administration center (Student Union), a student council, and a student council Through the concept system of modern democratic checks and balances, the three authorities of the student arbitration court actively implement campus democracy, strengthen students' civic literacy, and promote participation in public issues and student affairs. The student administration center (Student Union) is led by Hong Zongwen, the new president in August 2011, and the student council is presided over by Zhang Yi, the speaker. The book "crazy rose" was published in Sanlian bookstore (Hong Kong) Limited.

Building computer related facilities

In addition to the administration building, Zhicheng building set up a number of computers for students to use, and set up multimedia teaching facilities in the classroom.
