Jiangning weaving Museum

Jiangning weaving museum is located in daxinggong area, Xuanwu District, Nanjing city. It is a modern museum built on the former site of Jiangning weaving. It was designed by Mr. Wu Liangyong, a famous architect and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Museum covers an area of 18700 square meters and a building area of 37000 square meters.

The overall style of the building is to take the far-reaching, high and flat artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting, and cover the buildings high in the north and low in the South with garden techniques as far as possible. The original buildings of weaving department, such as Xichi, Jianting, xuanruitang and Xitang, are rebuilt in the building. It looks like a Jiangnan landscape painting from the south to the north. It is a classic work combining the language of modern architecture with traditional garden architecture.

Nanjing Jiangning weaving museum was officially opened to the public on May 1, 2013. It is a new museum displaying the history and culture of a dream of Red Mansions.

Historical evolution

The two archaeological sites discovered in 1984 and 2003 coincide with the existing records of Jiangning weaving department and Xiyuan. After expert argumentation, the site of Jiangning weaving department was finally confirmed. According to scholar Zhou Ruchang's suggestion, in 2004, the Nanjing municipal government started to rebuild the "Jinling Hongloumeng cultural museum" within the site of Jiangning weaving department.

Jiangning weaving Museum, located at 123 Changjiang Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing, was officially opened to the public on May 1, 2013. After opening, the museum will be renamed "Jiangning weaving Museum" from the original "Jiangning weaving Museum".

Jiangning weaving Museum, located in the daxinggong area in the center of Nanjing, is a modern museum built on the former site of Jiangning weaving. The theme of the design is "white head meets Jiangnan". The style is based on the poem "three mountains and a half fall outside the green mountains, two rivers divide into Egret Island". It involves the history of Jiangning zhizaofu itself, the history of Yunjin production of zhizaofu's weaving Bureau, and the rise and fall of a dream of Red Mansions, its author Cao Xueqin and Cao's family. The museum displays weaving, cloud brocade, a dream of Red Mansions on the first floor and garden on the first floor. Two more boutique exhibitions have been put out temporarily, which allow visitors to enjoy and study the history of cultural relics, trace history, increase knowledge and broaden their horizons. Jiangning weaving has existed for more than 260 years, witnessing the vicissitudes of the Qing Dynasty from prosperity to decline. During this period, Jiangning weaving house was famous for its southern tour, and the weaving machine room created the peak and brilliance of China's Yun Brocade craft. In order to show the ups and downs of this historical process, the museum uses a variety of exhibition methods to select hundreds of precious cultural relics and historical materials, which clearly reproduces the rise and fall of Jiangning zhizaofu, leaving a magnificent scene and endless reverie for future generations.

Jiangning weaving museum will reappear the history of Jiangning weaving mansion. From its establishment in Shunzhi period of Qing Dynasty to its abolition in Guangxu period, Jiangning weaving mansion has been brilliant for more than 200 years. Kangxi visited the South six times and stayed in five times. Jiangning weaving museum will display 4D version of Kangxi's southern Tour.

Jiangning weaving Museum has a small red chamber library, where citizens can check the materials of a dream of Red Mansions. It also displays several versions of a dream of Red Mansions and related exhibits by Cao Xueqin. In addition, there are Hongloumeng Pavilion, Hongloumeng projection hall and other diversified display of Hongloumeng culture.

Jiangning weaving Museum has a collection of ancient Chinese dragon robes and cheongsam collected by the museum from overseas, and the Tang Dynasty brocade is even more precious.

Dream of Red Mansions Pavilion is divided into two halls, one is the Little Red Mansions library. As soon as you enter the library, you can see a display board with Cao Xueqin sitting in the middle and "Twelve beauties of Jinling" next to it. In the library, there are one lattice after another, which looks like bookshelves. The other is the dream of Red Mansions Museum. At the entrance, there are many large display boards made according to the "dream of Red Mansions" Atlas collected by Lushun Museum. As soon as you enter, you will feel like a grand view garden.

There are three cloud brocade exhibition halls, each with its own division of labor. In the Yunjin Museum, a Dragon Robe of the Qing emperor has been put on the shelves.

On the yellow base, round patterns are woven on the robes. If you look at them carefully, there are dragons in the middle of these patterns. There are seven dragons on the front of the robe. On the neckline, another pattern is woven, which is very exquisite. The most noticeable are the cuffs and buttons. The buttons of the Dragon Robe are on the edge, about five of them are gold buttons. The cuff is a horseshoe sleeve, which means that the Dragon Robe belongs to the Qing emperor.
