Xiangtan Normal University

In August 1949, Xiangbei construction college was founded, and the college successively held seven issues from August 1949 to September 1951.

In August 1958, Xiangtan teachers college was established.

In 1973, Mr. Guo Moruo, then vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to write the name of Xiangtan Normal University.

In October 1985, Xiangtan Normal College was upgraded to Xiangtan Normal College, becoming the second undergraduate normal college in Hunan Province.

On November 15, 1985, Hu Yaobang, then general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, learned the good news of the founding of the normal college in his hometown and inscribed "Xiangtan Normal College" in Beijing.

Xiangtan Institute of Technology

In April 1978, Xiangtan Coal Institute was established.

In June 1981, Xiangtan coal college was renamed Xiangtan mining college.

In March 1997, Xiangtan Institute of mining changed its name to Xiangtan Institute of technology.

Merger and formation

In 2003, Xiangtan Normal University and Xiangtan Institute of technology merged to form Hunan University of science and technology.

In 2006, he was selected into the National College Students' cultural quality education base.

 

October 8, 2009, the 60th anniversary of the school. In September 2011, he was selected into the "excellent engineer education and training plan" of the Ministry of education.

 

In May 2013, it was rated as a national university with typical employment experience by the Ministry of education.

 

In October, the school was selected as the first batch of "2011 plan of Hunan Province".

 

On June 30, 2016, the national defense science and technology innovation base and characteristic disciplines forum organized by the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense was held in Beijing, and Hunan University of science and technology was established as a University jointly built by the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense and the people's Government of Hunan Province.

 

On July 4, 2017, it was proposed by Hunan Provincial Department of education to be recommended as a new recommended excellent undergraduate college in Hunan Province in 2017 to study for graduate students without examination.

 

In August, the University obtained the qualification of master's promotion and exemption.

 

In August 2017, it was established as a University jointly built by the State Administration of work safety and Hunan Provincial People's government.
