It was first built in the sixth year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1801), and then rebuilt several times. At that time, there were many long-lived people on both sides of Keelung River, so it was called Changshou bridge.
Longevity Bridge
Changshou bridge is located on Heilongtan of Taishan Mountain in Tai'an City, Shandong Province. It looks like a thick eyebrow on the Longtan and conveys affection with tourists. A rainbow leaps out of the mountain stream and adds color to the Longtan. The bridge is vermilion, and the green mountains on both sides of the bridge are beautiful. When people walk on it, they can have a bird's-eye view of the beautiful scenery of Longtan and the open-minded beauty of Xixi. This is the remarkable longevity bridge.
background of times
Changshou bridge was built by Zhang Peirong, the garrison of Yanzhou, when Zhang Zongchang was in charge of Lu in 1924, but not for the convenience of the people.
It is said that Zhang Peirong is famous for being afraid of his wife. Although he is majestic in front of soldiers, he is obedient to his wife. For him, his wife's words are imperial edicts and military orders. With such a rich and powerful husband, Mrs. Zhang indulged in extravagance and wanton play. One day, she heard that Mount Tai has beautiful scenery and many people are practicing immortals there. She also wanted to become an immortal and a Buddha on a whim. So she asked her husband to come to Mount Tai to build a temple.
When Zhang Peirong came to Mount Tai, he saw black dragon pool, surrounded by green hills, green trees, green bamboo pavilions, towering Ginkgo biloba, clear streams and changing shadows. There are two peaks of Ao Lai and Furong on the top of the mountain, and the waterfalls and streams on the bottom of the mountain. So he decided to build a temple here, and respected his wife as "Wuji immortal", so the temple he built was named "Wuji Temple".
When the Wuji temple was completed, Mrs. Zhang, wearing a cassock, sat upright among the lotus throne. Zhang Peirong led the officials and gentry of the counties and the people nearby to kowtow to the "Wuji immortal" and worship him. She also printed the Wuji Scripture and spread it among the counties. The opening of the book is the image of Wuji immortal. Zhang Peirong respected his wife as a fairy, so he put the stone tablet of praising himself outside the Wuji temple.
Bridge history
The temple is in the west of the stream. It's inconvenient to cross the river and stream when going in and out of the mountain. Zhang Peirong built a long bridge on Baizhang cliff. In order to please Mrs. Zhang and make her immortal, he named the bridge "Changshou bridge".
Besides, Wuji immortal still feels fresh when he sits on the lotus throne for ten and a half days. After a long time, the lotus throne is not easy to sit on. He can't stand the hardships of temple life, so he quietly "retired".
