Yangcen Township

Yangcen township is located in the middle and north part of Jianchuan County, the middle and low mountain area at the south foot of Laojun Mountain. It borders Diannan town in the East, Shaxi Town in the south, Laojunshan and Madeng town in the West and Lijiang town in the north. It is 27 kilometers away from the county. The population is concentrated in the area of 2200m-2600m above sea level. The township government is located at 2325m above sea level. The annual sunshine time is 2198 hours, the average temperature is 11.7 ℃, the annual rainfall is 842.4mm, and the frost period is 180 days. It is a cold semi mountainous area with long sunshine, strong radiation, rainy and low temperature, connected spring and autumn, and long winter without summer.

The main crops are rice, corn, barnyardgrass, wheat and broad bean. The main livestock are horses, cattle, sheep and pigs. Major water conservancy projects include daganchang reservoir, with water storage capacity of 2.4 million cubic meters and effective irrigation area of more than 5000 mu. Jianlan road is 29 kilometers long, and yangcen traditional stone carving technology is quite famous in Northwest Yunnan.

According to the production conditions and foundation of kidney bean in the township, the development goal of kidney bean industry in the future is to develop the planting area of kidney bean to 6000 mu in 2013, with a total output of 1500 tons. In terms of road traffic construction: 12 new rural roads of 56 km, village access rate of 88%, 7 village level roads of 63 km, administrative village roads in good condition rate of more than 95%, 12 new roads and pedestrian bridges, 17 hardened village roads of 19 km.
