Rongxing park is located in the area around the third section of Minquan East Road, xingxiaoli, Zhongshan District, Taipei City and Jianguo North Road, Longjiang Road and Wuchang Street, covering an area of 6.8 hectares

Every weekend and holiday, the garden is full of tourists and bustling, which makes it another flavor. It is a good place for family to relax and play. It is the first European landscaping garden in Taipei.

Founded and operated by the Koo family in 1968, it was formerly known as Rongxing garden. It is one of the famous garden green spaces in Taipei. There is also a small swimming pool in the northwest corner. Fireflies have been found in the garden in the past.

In 1989, it was taken over by the park street lamp project management office of the public works bureau of Taipei municipal government and listed as Zhongshan 232 Park in the urban plan.

At the end of 2003, after the renovation, it was renamed Rongxing Park, and a firefly recovery area was set up.

name

The word "Rongxing" in Rongxing park comes from the memory of Gu Xianrong by the Ku family. Gu Xian "Rong", the word "Star", so named "Rongxing" park.

history

During the land reform, Gu Zhenfu released the ancestral land to the tenant farmers according to the government regulations, and then it was collected with compensation. The local farmers once offered the memorial tablet of Gu Xianrong, Gu Zhenfu's father, in the local temple to show their gratitude. In 1966, after Gu Zhenfu gained a certain position in the industrial and commercial circles, he built a small pavilion beside the temple to offer memorial tablets and invited a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang to write in memory of his father, Gu Xianrong. The incident was disclosed by the press, saying that a famous person had erected a monument for the traitor, causing a burst of shock. The Ku family quickly demolished the pavilion and destroyed the monument, but the situation did not expand.

In 1968, Gu Weifu, the younger brother of Gu Zhenfu, built Rongxing garden and established Rongxing Enterprise Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Rongxing company") to manage it. It was also mentioned by public opinion that "it is not possible for the Ku family to commemorate the traitors and martyrs' ancestral hall, and now a garden has been built to commemorate Gu Xianrong." At this time, it seems that public opinion does not care much about ideology, but does not cause much sensation. But later, the "Rongxing garden fraud" broke out.

In 1985, Gu Yanhong, the son of Gu Weifu, took over Rongxing company. He announced the auction of Rongxing garden three times at a price of 800 million yuan, but no one was interested in it. Finally, Gu kuanmin, the younger brother of Gu Weifu, took over and became the chairman of Rongxing company. Later, he went to cooperate with Huang Zhouxuan, the chairman of Qiaofu construction company, to develop Rongxing garden with an investment of 20 billion yuan.

In June 1987, Rongxing company sent the investment plan of Rongxing garden to the Taipei Municipal Government for approval. It was returned seven times and no one paid attention to it. In 1988, the case of Rongxing garden development was exposed for suspected collusion between government and business and bribery, which caused a great sensation in the society. As a result, many political and business celebrities were sentenced.

Covering an area of 6.5 hectares, Rongxing park is transformed from private Rongxing garden to municipal government management, open to the public for leisure and recreation. There are lawns, trees, pools, gardens and trails in the park, just like an oasis in the city, attracting birds and squirrels to park. Various facilities allow the whole family to have their favorite corner.

On the lawn, children can run and play until they are exhausted. When they are hungry, they can have a picnic in the shade of a big tree. They can find the squirrels hiding in the trees carefully, take a nap and continue their hide and seek journey in the park.

Under the arbor and beside the big tree, there are hidden masters, the wisdom accumulated by time and the wisdom on the chessboard, showing calm and foresight. The traffic on the road is like isolation. People can't help watching the battle.

The most energetic corner is the square where mothers and wives dancing hand in hand to music, or holding their wives or friends, feel the deep affection of many years of emotion, and can't help being moved when they see the joyful smile and body rhythm. Happiness can be so simple.
