Keya greening project
KEKEYA's spirit of "self-reliance, unity, hard work and selfless dedication" formed in the process of construction of KEKEYA's greening project is full of emotion, and expresses admiration for the spirit and determination of several leaders of Aksu city to invest 1.5 billion yuan in artificial afforestation in order to create a "land of water and forest". Since 1986, Aksu City has carried out a large-scale afforestation project on the ancient wasteland in the northern and eastern suburbs of the city - KEKEYA desert afforestation shelterbelt project. In the 22 years since 2007, the army and people of all ethnic groups in Aksu City have participated in the third phase of the afforestation project battle, with a total of 75000 mu of afforestation and 8.572 million trees of all kinds planted On the Gobi, a "Green Great Wall" has been built, 25 kilometers long from north to South and 2 kilometers wide from east to west, which is listed as one of the "500 best places in the world" by the United Nations Environmental and Resource Protection Commission.
development history
The fourth phase of KEKEYA greening project in Aksu region of Xinjiang, which has a construction history of 19 years, has been officially launched. It is planned to complete 150000 mu of afforestation by 2010. Among them, there are 70000 mu in Wensu County, 50000 mu in Aksu City, 30000 mu in experimental forest farm and hongqipo farm. This is the largest phase of KEKEYA greening project since its construction.
Since the implementation of KEKEYA greening project in 1986, it has lasted for 19 years. The army and people of all ethnic groups have carried out 28 greening conferences, with 671000 participants. Three phases of greening project have been carried out, with a total afforestation area of 58000 mu, including 40000 mu of economic forest and 18000 Mu of protective forest. A total of 3.9 million trees have been planted.
In 1986, in order to change the bad natural conditions, Aksu started the KEKEYA greening project. Over the past 30 years, cadres and masses of all ethnic groups have worked hand in hand to create a "green sea" of one million mu on the Gobi desert in southern Xinjiang.
In April 1986, a canal repair team composed of more than 250 people entered KEKEYA.
In 2015, following the KEKEYA desert greening project, the "three million mu" ecological treatment projects in Aksu River Basin, Weigan River Basin and kongteilik region began one after another, including flood control embankment, traffic network, water conservancy irrigation, wasteland afforestation, returning farmland to forest, improving quality and efficiency of forest and fruit industry, so as to comprehensively promote ecosystem restoration and protection.
Engineering benefit
From 1986, tens of thousands of people in Aksu region planted 2559 mu of trees in KEKEYA greening project for the first time to 2005, a 27 km green corridor was formed. Gradually changed the surrounding natural environment. Based on the analysis of the meteorological data of KEKEYA region for several decades by the regional meteorological station, the number of sandstorm days is 6.5 days less than the annual average before afforestation, the temperature in January in winter is 2-3 degrees higher than that before afforestation, the temperature in July in summer is 0.3 degrees lower, and the precipitation is 6.1-18 mm higher than that in previous years.
Keya greening project is mainly built by relying on social forces and carrying forward the spirit of "self-reliance and hard work". The planted economic forest has achieved a good harvest, and apples, pears and peaches have entered the peak fruit period, which has enriched the fruit market. The fruits have registered the trademark of "king of the western regions" and began to be sold all over the country.
Important achievements
According to the statistics of Aksu Forestry Bureau, KEKEYA desert greening project started in 1986 and ended in 2015. In the whole 30 years, after seven secretaries of the local Party committee, 3.4 million people participated in voluntary tree planting, with a total afforestation area of 1.153 million mu and a total of 13.37 million trees planted.
In 1996, KEKEYA was listed as one of the "500 best places in the world" by the United Nations Environmental and Resource Protection Committee.
Of the 1.153 million mu desert greening projects in KEKEYA, 80% are economic forests, 15% are shelterbelts, and 5% are infrastructure construction and supporting projects. Now, the big fruit plate in Tarim Basin has covered the whole Aksu area. According to the statistics of Aksu Forestry Bureau, in 2017, the area of forest and fruit in Aksu was stable at 4.5 million mu, the output was 2.215 million tons, and the output value reached 13.07 billion yuan.
Ecological management
At present, the 1.2633 million mu ecological treatment project in Aksu River Basin has been completed, the 1.07 million mu ecological project in Weigan River Basin will be completed, and the 60000 Mu afforestation project in kongtailike region has been completed. After the completion of the three projects by 2020, more than one million people will benefit.
As of October 2018, the 1.2633 million mu ecological treatment project in Aksu River Basin has been completed, the 1.07 million mu ecological project in Weigan River Basin will be completed in autumn 2018, and the 60000 Mu afforestation has been completed in spring 2018. After the completion of the three projects by 2020, more than one million people will benefit.
