Nanzhaizi (Tianshui folk custom museum)

Hu's residence is composed of two ancient buildings across the street, nanzhaizi and beizhaizi. Nanzhaizi was first built in 1608, and beizhaizi was built in 1615, 395 and 388 years ago respectively. Although nanzhaizi was renamed Tianshui folk custom museum, this building itself is its most important folk custom exhibit. Mr. Luo Zhewen, a famous cultural relic and ancient architecture expert, said that it is "the only ancient residential building group with typical Ming Dynasty architectural style in Gansu Province and rare in China". Nanzhaizi and beizhaizi are the most complete Ming Dynasty dwellings in Tianshui city.
