Observatory

The observatory is located in Gaocheng Town, 7.5 kilometers southeast of Dengfeng City, Henan Province. It was built in 1276 A.D. from the Yuan Dynasty to the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty. It has a history of 700 years. It is the oldest existing Observatory in China and one of the most important astronomical monuments in the world. It is a tall building of blue brick and stone structure, which is composed of platform body and measuring ruler. The shape of platform body is covered bucket.
