Chanba National Wetland Park in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province is a national AAAA tourist attraction. It is located in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the delta area between the Bahe River and the Weikou River in the northeast of Xi'an. It is an inland river wetland and has the typical characteristics of estuarine wetland in Northwest China. It is an important part of Chanba ecological area and even the wetland system in Xi'an city. The total planning area of the wetland park is 8715 mu, which is divided into four display sections of "wild, exquisite, fashionable and river".

Chanba National Wetland Park in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province is located in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the delta area of the Bahe River into the Weikou River in the northeast of Xi'an. It is an important part of Chanba ecological area and even Xi'an wetland system, with a total planning area of 8715 mu.

Xi'an area is located in the Weihe Fault Depression in the west of North China platform, and the west of the fault depression is Weihe depression. Wetland park is located in the Xi'an depression of Weihe depression. The floodplain of Bahe River and Chanhe river is located in the east of Weiyang District, on the West Bank of Bahe River and on both banks of Chanhe River, with north-south trend and zonal distribution. The flood plain of Chanhe river is not obvious. The beach surface of Bahe River is relatively neat, and the beach surface in the south is narrow and widened northward along the channel.

Climatic characteristics

Wetland Park belongs to warm temperate continental semi humid monsoon climate, with mild and humid climate, four distinct seasons, and annual average temperature of 13.3 ℃. In spring, there are often cold waves, frost, high wind speed, dust and spring drought; in summer, it is rainy and prone to summer drought; in early autumn, it is rainy and the temperature drops quickly; in late autumn, it is sunny and crisp; in winter, it is cold and dry. The territory is not large, and the regional difference of climate is small.

hydrology

The main water body in the wetland park is the Bahe River, which was originally named Zishui. In the spring and Autumn period, Duke mu of Qin ruled Xirong and wanted to show off his martial arts, so he changed his name to Bahe River. Bahe River originates from Qinling fault block gorge in the southeast of bayuan Town, Lantian County. It enters Weiyang District about 2.8km northwest of Bahe railway bridge and flows northward to the northeast of jiajiatan and flows into Weihe River. The length of the area is 14.31 km, and the river gradient is 1.53 ‰. The annual average runoff is 532 million cubic meters.

Resources

The park area is rich in animal and plant resources. There are about 150 species of animal species in 50 families of 27 orders. There are 13 species of national first and second level protected animals, such as white spoonbill, swan, Oriental White Stork, Chinese toad and lizard. There are 180 species of plant species in 49 families. In order to further reflect the wetland characteristics and enrich the aquatic plant species, 22 kinds of aquatic plants such as cattail, water lily, Euryale ferox, scallion, iris, Canna and duckweed have been added in the park construction. More than 40000 trees of 92 species such as weeping willow and Fraxinus are planted in the park, 128 hectares of ground cover plants such as flowers, shrubs and grasses are planted, and 167 hectares of water surface are increased, including about 100 hectares of river water surface restored and 67 hectares of newly built water surface. The water surface and vegetation coverage area accounts for 94% of the total area of the park.

Chanba National Wetland Park has a large area of water area, which provides a good habitat for animal reproduction. It is one of the three migration routes of migratory birds in the middle of China, so there are many kinds of wild waterfowl in this area. There are 200 kinds of animals in the region, including more than 100 kinds of birds. With the change of seasons, egrets, cormorants, common merganser and other birds live in the park one after another, and more rare birds such as black stork, white spoonbill, Chinese climbing Finch and pheasant appear in the park one after another. The excellent ecological environment has attracted a large number of migratory birds, and some of them have become residents of wetland parks.

Development and construction

On April 28, 2013, Chanba National Wetland Park opened.

In December 2014, Shaanxi provincial tourism scenic spot quality rating committee announced that 15 scenic spots including Xi'an Chanba National Wetland Park met the national 4A scenic spot standard and were approved as national 4A scenic spots.

On December 31, 2014, the State Forestry Administration issued the reply of the State Forestry Administration on the acceptance of 20 national wetland parks (pilot) in Inner Mongolia, including Bailang Taoerhe. Chanba National Wetland Park in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province passed the acceptance and officially became a national wetland park.

Infrastructure

Chanba National Wetland Park covers an area of 4700 mu, with four landmark buildings: Yuanyuan gate, science museum, bird watching tower and wetland water street. It is divided into four exhibition sections: wild area, exquisite area, fashion area and river area. According to different functions, six landscapes and ten experience projects are distributed in each section. Huaxi tea house, zishuixie and jiaganyuan are set up in the park to provide rest, catering and retail services for tourists.

The total planning area of the park is 8715 mu, with four display plates of "wild interest, delicacy, fashion and river course". In the Wetland Park, you can enjoy flowers in spring, watch lotus in summer, and pick fruits in autumn. The fresh scenes full of life atmosphere change with the change of seasons. Xi'an Chanba National Wetland Park is one of the first batch of National Wetland Park pilot projects in Shaanxi Province. It is also one of the ten practical things determined by the municipal government to benefit the people in 2013. It has high biodiversity protection value and is an important species bank and gene bank in Xi'an. The completion and opening of the park will play an important role in restoring the biodiversity of wetlands in Chan, Ba and Wei river systems, improving the city's air quality, ensuring the city's ecological security, and promoting pollution control and haze reduction.
