Yuehui garden, a garden architecture and gardening boutique combining traditional culture with modern civilization, shows the world Lingnan Garden art style as one of the three major schools of Chinese garden. In order to let Guangdong people appreciate the style of Yuehui garden nearby and preserve its artistic style forever for the masses to visit, Tianhe District Party committee and Tianhe District Government jointly invested 5 million yuan with Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture to rebuild Yuehui garden scenic spot in Guangzhou Tianhe Park, which was strongly supported by the provincial leaders, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government. In order to do a good job in the reconstruction of Yuehui garden and ensure the excellent construction quality, Tianhe District government and Guangzhou Municipal Government jointly formed a reconstruction leading group to coordinate the relevant construction matters.

The park was originally Guangzhou Government Forest Farm (also known as Shipai forest farm). It was built in 1928. In 1933, it was renamed Zhongshan Park in memory of Sun Yat Sen. Deng Shichang (1849-1894), a national hero, was originally named Yongchang and named Zhengqing. He was born in Panyu, Guangdong Province. On September 17, 1894, he died in the sea battle against Japanese invaders. The Deng people were buried in Dengjiashan, shiguling, tianpingjia, Shahe, Guangzhou. Later, due to the changes of the times, they were buried. In 1984, in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Deng Shichang's death, the tomb was found with the support of Shahe Town Government and relevant people. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, in order to carry forward the patriotic spirit, the municipal government decided to move the tomb of Deng Shichang back to the eastern suburb park, and set up a statue and cemetery of Deng Shichang to honor the heroes and the statues of Deng Shichang
