Main collections
Collection treasures
The collection of art museum is based on the collection of traditional Chinese paintings in Guangzhou Art Museum. Many of them are valuable art treasures. The treasure of Zhenyuan is the painting of ink bamboo by Wentong in the Northern Song Dynasty, the painting of birds gathering in autumn by Lin Liang in the Ming Dynasty and the painting of Huangshan shixinfeng by Hongren in the Qing Dynasty. Among them, "Mo Zhu Tu" is very precious. There are only three paintings that have been handed down and recognized as Wentong. One is in the Chinese History Museum in Beijing, one is in the Forbidden City in Taiwan, and the other is in the art museum. In addition, Ming Daijin's "mountains are high and rivers are long", with a total length of more than 20 meters, the highest in the country. Fan Zeng, a famous artist, visited the art museum and bowed when he saw these fine works. In collecting cultural relics and works of art, the Art Museum has the support of veteran artists Guan Shanyue, Li Xiongcai, Lai Shaoqi, Liao Bingxiong and their families. It is particularly worth mentioning that Zhao Tailai, a British collector, has donated cultural relics to the art museum three times in succession, which is rare since the founding of the people's Republic of China. The Tibetan Thangka donated by him is second only to the collection of Potala Palace in Lhasa in terms of quality and grade. These thangkas were bought by Zhao Tailai with a lot of money when he was exiled from Tibet to foreign countries for auction in London.

Li kongxiu's poem reciting on the back of a donkey
Li kongxiu (1436-1526) has a long character and is known as baozhenzi. Shunde, Guangdong, is an overseas Chinese living in Guangzhou. Gongshi is good at painting. He is good at painting feathers, animals and landscapes.
Money: Zichang.
Postscript: when Jia Dao met Wen Gong, he did not think about it on the mule road. Just because the birds stay by the pond, pushing words is not like knocking words. Shi Zhai Shu.
Seal: Zichang (seal in white) Shizhai (seal in white)
In the early Ming Dynasty, zhuzixue was regarded as one of the most important schools. With the compilation and promulgation of the three complete works, the academic circle was restrained by the stylized zhuzixue. The trend of Eight Legged selection of scholars flourished in the world. Chen Baisha advocated "complacency" and opened up the way of mind learning in Ming Dynasty. Since then, the style of study has changed. The painting and calligraphy of Baisha school also pursue "book is heart, heart is reason".
Li kongxiu is Chen Baisha's proud disciple, known for his upright nature. According to the general annals of Guangdong, Li kongxiu is good at painting cats. His princes and princes paid a lot of money for painting. Instead of painting, Li kongxiu gave some to the woodcutter and other common people. In the history of painting, Li kongxiu is famous for his painting of animals, especially cats. According to folklore, the hair and bones of the cat painted by Li kongxiu are real, and the mice are scared away when they see them. Therefore, many people ask Li kongxiu to draw a cat to prevent rats. It is also said that Li kongxiu once drew a picture of birds. When a fire broke out, the birds in the picture immediately turned into real birds and flew away, "people saw them flying away from the smoke.". Li kongxiu's cat painting has disappeared, and the existing painting axis of poetry chanting on the back of a donkey by Guangzhou Art Museum represents the level of his figure painting. The picture only shows a man, a donkey and a corner of a mountain and stone, but it vividly tells the story of Jia Dao, a poet of Tang Dynasty, riding a donkey and reciting poems, which contains the emotion of "thing and self". Li Gongming, a professor of Guangzhou Academy of fine arts, commented that Li's "freehand brushwork of ink and wash, the literati's interest is beyond the brush and ink, and he has the style of a master who seems to have done it inadvertently, which seems to contain the spirit of Su Renshan in the future.".

The whole picture is vivid, interesting and natural. It brings the viewer a kind of spiritual enjoyment and makes people understand the breath of spring.
