Wangfujing Museum of Paleoanthropology

Wangfujing ancient human cultural site, discovered in 1996, is a site of the late Paleolithic age, about 24000-25000 years ago. It is a place where ancient people lived and hunted. There are rich traces of fire, stone burning and animal fossils. On December 31, 1996, the archaeological team carried out an eight month rescue excavation on the site of more than 2000 square meters, and unearthed more than 2000 cultural relics. In order to protect this precious historical site and display the long history of human culture in Beijing, the people's Government of Dongcheng District and Mr. Li Jiacheng jointly invested in the construction of Wangfujing ancient human cultural relics museum, which was officially opened to the audience on December 28, 2001 Let's go. In the museum, a 50 square meter site is the center, surrounded by a large number of exhibits and pictures, including more than 2000 pieces of bone artifacts and stone artifacts from 25000 years ago, such as stone anvil, stone hammer, bone shovel and bone slice, as well as animal bone fossils such as primitive cattle, Mongolian hare, spotted deer and an's ostrich.
