The predecessor of the school is Cihu academy, which was the lecture center of great scholars in Song Dynasty. In order to commemorate Yang Jian's founding of an academy in 1271, more than 600 years later, in 1902, a new school, Cihu middle school, was founded on the original site of the Academy. The first headmaster was Guan Weizhen. Later, it was renamed Cixi County Primary School of higher learning and Cihu Primary School of Cixi County. In 1934, qinrunqing and yangminzeng from the city founded Cixi County junior high school. Mr. Chen Qianfu is the president. After three years of hard planning and strict management, President Chen has achieved initial success. He is famous for his morning recitation and night reading by Cihu dike. In June 1939, the new school building was destroyed by Japanese aircraft, so the school had no choice but to move to Lushan temple in Nanxiang to continue teaching. In April 1941, the Japanese occupied Cicheng, and Cichong was forced to disband. In the autumn of 1942, in order to resist the enslavement education of the enemy and the puppets, the headmaster Hu Shengxi and others ran schools at four points in the East, West and North districts of the county. Teachers and students were united and the enemy shared common hatred. On the one hand, they insisted on Teaching and on the other hand, they took part in the Anti Japanese and national salvation activities. In August 1945, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, more than 2300 teachers and students from all branches returned to Cicheng to return to school. Celebrities such as Chen Bulei and Qin Runqing raised money to build the school again, and borrowed Puji temple, zhenshe and other courtyards as temporary school buildings. Famous teachers such as Qian wansi, ye Jianzhi, Jiang shengshu and Weng Xinhui are here to teach, and build a good reputation of "good school spirit, good teachers, strict scholarship and high quality". With the liberation of the whole country in 1949, the nature of the school changed fundamentally, the scale of running the school expanded continuously, a large number of working people's children entered the school, and Cixi Jianshi was incorporated into our school. In 1951, Mr. Wang Wenchuan, the principal of the school, explored the potential of the school and set up night middle school and two-part system. In 1953, it began to recruit new high school students. The school was upgraded to a complete middle school and renamed Cixi County middle school. In 1955, there were 104 teaching staff, 27 classes and 1398 students. In July of that year, with the change of administrative division, the school changed its name to Yuyao No.2 Middle School. In 1956, the first high school students graduated, 97.8% of them were admitted to colleges and universities. In the following years, the teaching achievements were remarkable and the achievements were brilliant. In July 1960, it was renamed Cihu middle school in Ningbo City, and was rated as a regional advanced school. Miaoshan branch was established in 1965 and changed into Miaoshan middle school in 1971. In 1977, it was rated as regional advanced again. In 1978, it became one of the three key middle schools in the urban area. From 1993 to 2004, Cihu teaching center of Ningbo Polytechnic School was set up. In the form of joint or self-management, 37 classes of polytechnic school were enrolled. In 2004, it was closed. In 1994, Taiwan's Ying family donated 15.5 million yuan and the government provided more than 10 million yuan for the comprehensive reconstruction of Cihu middle school.
