The rattan bookstore, formerly known as the durian bookstore, is the residence of Xu Wei, one of the three great talents in the Ming Dynasty. Compared with the downtown area not far away, it is like entering the Zen realm. The entrance is a gable with the words "ziziyan" written on it. Stepping into the path, you can see a patio, a climbing vine along the wall, and a square pool (also known as Tianchi). You can see Tianchi square pool when you open the window of the study. Tianchi square pool has a pillar supporting the wall, and the pillar is engraved with the word "mainstay Zhongliu". The book house purified by Tianchi and Qingteng is like Xu Wei's self described "one dust does not fall down", but the space is in harmony with personality.

Ivy League Bookstore
Rattan bookstore, formerly known as durian bookstore, is located at No. 10, Dacheng lane, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City. It is the former residence of Xu Wei, an outstanding writer and artist in Ming Dynasty. Xu Wei (who called himself "my calligraphy first, poetry second, literature third and painting Fourth") was highly praised by later generations for his calligraphy and painting. He was a representative of the mature period of the freehand brushwork school in the history of Chinese painting and was honored as the ancestor of the Ivy League school. Yuan Hongdao of Ming Dynasty praised him as a "prodigy" who "startled ghosts in the middle of the night".
Today, the Ivy book house covers an area of 400 square meters, with three flat rooms as the main building. The book house faces south. A row of long lattice windows are placed on the bluestone window sill. In the middle of the house, there are Xu Wei's portrait, the couplet of the picture of the Ivy book house and Chen Hongshou's handwritten "Ivy book house" plaque. Above the south window, there are Xu Wei's handwritten "dust does not fall" wooden plaque and "may not be a secret gate" plaque There are four treasures of the study on the bench below. The East and west walls are respectively inlaid with Chen's story of rebuilding the Ivy study and Tianchi mountain people's portrait of 50 years old. After the study, there is a cultural relics exhibition room of Xu Wei. In the east of the study, there is a small garden planted with plants such as plantains, pomegranates and grapes that Xu Wei used to grow. In the south of the study, there is a small garden gate, in which Xu Wei planted ivy A tree and a side Yingchi (Tianchi), the garden gate engraved with Xu Wei handwritten "Tian Han Fen yuan" four words. Nowadays, the Ivy League bookstore is the only residential building in Shaoxing with the characteristics of literati garden in Ming Dynasty. On May 25, 2006, as ancient buildings of Ming Dynasty, Sinomenium bookstore and Xu Wei tomb were approved by the State Council to be listed in the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
All the houses are made of white walls and tiles. They are neat and clean. The walls are nearly one foot high, but they are quiet and simple. Deep in an alley paved with bluestone slabs is the Ivy League library. There is a small garden in the black lacquer gate of the Ivy study. The bamboo is swaying in the wind, and the grass on the side is also blooming with red flowers. There are green plantains with wide leaves, half yellow and half green leaves on the grape trellis, orchid grass on both sides of the path, and the twining old vine in the corner.
The Ivy book house is at the end of a deep lane. The lane is very deep and narrow. There are green tiles and green walls. A few green trees in the wall stretch out to welcome guests. There are a pair of black platform doors. At the door is written "Zhejiang cultural relic protection unit - Ivy book house". Into the library, a small round stone paved path extends to the front, roadside a few bamboo spit green, a pomegranate flower spit Yan, creeping vines wrapped. At the end of the road is Xu's library. There is a round door on the right side of the library. Outside the door is an old well. Inside the door is a small pool. On both sides of the pool are two ancient trees, a Chimonanthus praecox and a green vine. It is said that because Xu Wei loves ivy, this is called the Ivy study. Because it's called Sinomenium bookstore, we can't live without Sinomenium, so we planted one. However, the fate of this Sinomenium is as changeable as that of Xu Wei. It's said that the original Sinomenium was struck in two by lightning, half died, half remained, and the remaining half was uprooted during the cultural revolution. What can be seen now is later moved up.
There are several red brocade fish in the small pond. There are two windows on the pond. There is Xu Wei's desk beside the window. Xu Wei often writes poems, paints and plays here. When he is tired, he pushes open the lattice window to take a breath of fresh air. Xu Wei is very complacent. There is a couplet beside the window on the pool: "a pool of gold and jade is like melting, and the eyes are blue and yellow." In the middle of the pool, there is a small stone pillar against the windowsill, which is engraved with "mainstay, middle stream". The word "flow" has long been invisible by the weathering of time. It is not difficult to see Xu Wei's lofty and aloof.
The Ivy reading room covers an area of 460 square meters. It faces east in the west, with three rooms and two rooms. In front of the library, there are Tianchi and Qingteng. In the East, there is a bamboo garden with Ziyan and Tianhan Fenyuan. The library is small in scope, but delicate and elegant. It is an existing building with literati garden characteristics in Shaoxing.
In 1593, Xu Wei died of illness and was buried in the cemetery of Xu's family at the north foot of jiangpo mountain, limusha village, Lanting Town, Shaoxing County. Xu Wei's tomb is located in the southwest and faces the northeast. There are also tombs of his parents, brother and sister-in-law nearby.
Historical evolution
Sinomeni bookstore, formerly known as "Durian bookstore". Jiaqing revised the "Shanyin county annals" for 28 years: "the end of the book is in the east of Dacheng nunnery in Dayun square, where Xu Wei was born." The owner of the durian library is Xu Jian, Xu Wei's father. There is a pool in front of the house, which is neither dry nor overflowing. It is known as "Tianchi", and there is a pomegranate tree in Da'an beside it, so the book house gets its name. There is a vine beside the pool, which is Xu Wei's sandalwood. Its branches are curly, not as good as Qiu song, covering the square pool. There are stone railings around the pool, which are primitive and simple. Lying on a horizontal bridge near the north, it is supported by square pillars. On the pillars, it is engraved with "mainstay". On the bridge, a library is built, and couplets are engraved on the pillars: "a pool of gold and jade is like melting, the eyes are blue and yellow, and the back is engraved with" ziziyan ". These are all Xu's handwriting. At the age of 20, Xu said he was a scholar in the examination and joined pan kejing's family. From then on, he left the durian library. In the 23rd year of Jiajing (1544), Xu Huai, Xu Wei's elder brother, died, and the durian library was also sold. Fortunately, in 1633, Jin Lan, a Jinshi in Shanyin, initiated the protection. He built a stele in Dayun square, engraved with "the hometown of Mr. Xu Wenchang", and used the library as a school house to teach students. In the late years of Chongzhen, Chen Hongshou moved from Zhuji to Xudong's former residence and wrote the plaque of "sinomeni bookstore" in his hand. From then on, the name of "Liuhua bookstore" was changed to "sinomeni bookstore". When the Ming Dynasty perished, the Lu King regime in Shaoxing failed, and Chen Hongshou moved to Bowu in the south of the city to become a monk. The Ivy study is a waste of tobacco and grass. In 1682, Shi Shengji bought the Ivy book house from the pan family, and restored it. Huang Zongxi wrote "the trip of the green vine" for this reason. The poem says: "I can't bear to abandon Wen Chang, but Wen Chang can't bear to abandon one vine. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing, Chen wubo bought the Sinomenium library from Shi's family and carried out expansion and renovation. The Sinomenium library was divided into eight scenic spots: Tianchi, shutenga, ziziyan, yunshanlou, hunruzhou, jiaozitang, cherry hall, shiyeju. Qian dating and Zheng Banqiao were invited to inscribe the plaque. Ruan Yuan wrote the story of Chen's rebuilding Sinomenium library and engraved it on the wall Stone, embedded in the wall. Chen is enthusiastic, but unfortunately he has changed his original appearance, which is not in line with Wen Chang's life experience.
In 1967, the Ivy book house was destroyed, leaving only the broken walls and withered ancient trees. In 1980, Shaoxing County Cultural Relics Management Committee rebuilt the Sinomenium library, cleaned up the Tianchi Lake, restored the stone fence, replanted the Sinomenium, dug out the water, rebuilt the couplets, built the library and renovated the small garden. It completely restored the original appearance of the Sinomenium Library in accordance with the principle of the maintenance of cultural relics protection units.
After more than 400 years of history and several changes, the Ivy book house was once desolate, but the square pool, stone column, inscription, ivy, couplets, the plaque of "spotless" written by Xu Wei and the plaque of "Ivy book house" written by Chen Hongshou have all been preserved. There are three rooms in the library. They are single bungalows, terraced and tiled, and paved with green bricks. Although they have been rebuilt by later generations, some of the components are still original. The back is the inner room, which is only separated from the library by a wall. In fact, it is the same as the beam frame. The house was a small garden, with ancient trees blocking the sun, bamboo dancing, rockery blocks, pebble paths, as well as osmanthus, plum, pomegranate and banana. Although it is not a strange flower and stone, it is also quiet and elegant, reflecting the artistic creativity of the ancient Chinese working people.

"Half a life of depression has become a man, independent study howling night wind. There is no place to sell the pearls at the bottom of the pen, but to throw them in the wild vines
Xu Wei said in his poem, "I planted Sinomenium at the age of ten, but it's the rare year of huajiateng. Write the picture, write the rattan life, my life, his age I ancient immortal rattan.
