The southern part of Bohe port is close to the sea, with circuitous coast, and has many natural ports such as Shuidong and Bohe. Bohe port is one of the three major fishing ports in Guangdong Province. It is rich in lobster, prawn, sea cucumber, perch and squid crab. The output of aquatic products in the city ranks first in the province. It is the largest production base of jellyfish and nanfengluo in China. Among them, Longtou mountain and Fangji island are clear and transparent, with visibility of more than 8 meters deep. Tourists can play fishing with fishermen, enjoy the fun of being a fisherman, and taste all kinds of seafood from the net in person.

Bohe port is located in Bohe Town, Dianbai District, bordering on the South China Sea. It is a long and narrow shape, 2.5 km long from north to south, 0.72 km wide from east to west, and covers an area of 18 square kilometers. It is one of the natural harbors. If the port area is dredged, it can accommodate 2800 large and medium-sized ships to berth, shelter from the wind and replenish with oil and water. The harbor is 180 nautical miles away from Hong Kong and Macao, and 14 kilometers away from national highway 325, with convenient water and land transportation.

Bohe port is an extension of the special wharf for salt industry of Bohe port in Dianbai district. It has a joint inspection building of 1200 square meters, a warehouse of 1400 square meters, a wharf and storage yard of 3000 square meters, water supply facilities, handling machinery and other service facilities. The port has wide water area and deep water level, which is suitable for various types of ships. After the port is put into operation, it will not only promote the development of logistics industry in Maoming, Yangjiang, Zhanjiang and other areas in western Guangdong, but also greatly reduce the cost of raw salt transportation and export, and activate the transportation, storage, packaging and other industries related to salt industry.

It is estimated that the tonnage of raw salt transportation will account for 40% of the port's import and export materials.

Bohe port in Dianbai District opened a sea route as early as in the Southern Dynasties to trade with Guangzhou and other places. In 714 ad, the Tang Dynasty set up the "Shi Bo Si" (customs) in Guangzhou to administer foreign trade. In 1518, the "Shi Bo Si" moved to Bohe port in Dianbai district. At that time, Bohe port once became the main foreign trade port in southern China. In the early days of the Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat Sen wrote the plan for the development of Bohe port into the general plan for the founding of the people's Republic of China. Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, Bohe port has made great progress. In 1980, Bohe port was approved by the provincial government as the cargo departure point for Hong Kong and Macao. In 1993, Bohe port was upgraded from the departure point to the loading and unloading point with the approval of the provincial government. Since then, Bohe port has become a comprehensive port integrating commerce and fishery, and a designated trade point with Taiwan.

Bohe port has a wharf with a coastline of 800 meters, a 500 ton berth and five ferries. The government of Dianbai district has set up a port management office and a port joint inspection office in Bohe port. The inspection agencies include the customs office, the inspection and quarantine office, the maritime administration office, etc. In addition, Dianbai district has set up Taiwan compatriots reception station and Taiwan Trade Service Company in the port area.

Relevant information

In the early 1980s, the main export commodities of Bohe port were litchi, fresh seafood, peanut kernel, sanniao, salt and ore, with an average annual throughput of about 150000 tons. In recent years, the newly opened port of Shuidong port has been officially opened to the outside world, so the import and export goods of Bohe port have been affected. According to statistics, in 1997, there were more than 130 import and export ships, more than 3000 tons of import and export goods, and in 1998, there were more than 6000 tons of import and export goods, more than 400 times of joint inspection for pelagic fishing vessels, avoiding the circuitous trouble of the joint inspection of Bohe ships to Zhanjiang, which is the far-reaching end of the white line Great contributions have been made to the development of ocean fisheries.

The underground drainage and sewage disposal works of the wharf have been completed, the 1500 meter water supply and oil supply pipeline has been laid, the joint inspection building at the port will be completed, the gate and storage yard are also under construction, and the 14 kilometer access road is planned to start construction in the near future to remove the roadblocks through repeated survey and positioning. The above port supporting facilities and access roads will be completed and put into use after joint inspection and acceptance by relevant departments.

On March 26, 2016, the Breakwater Project of Bohe new port area ushered in an important construction node, and the first caisson of the breakwater of Bohe new port area was successfully placed
