Most of the Coptis chinensis Franch in Nujiang are planted in the hillside woodland above 2000 meters above sea level. Nujiang is the best place for Coptis chinensis to grow, because it is rainy and foggy, the air is moist and fresh, and the humus soil is soft and deep.

Coptis chinensis should be planted and excavated for at least 3 years. You need to hoe twice a year. From picking and digging Coptis to drying, bumping whiskers and cleaning, every process is devoted to the hard work of Lisu women and nu girls. It is not easy for Nujiang Coptis to become the top grade of Yunnan Coptis.
